Captain Marvel was never officially confirmed to appear in Infinity War, it was all just speculation by fans and insiders. Not to say she can't be alluded to in the movie in some way or there might be a possible cameo appearance by Larson either physically or in a photo or whatever to set up her own film the following year. I do not see the big surprise here, if Captain Marvel was in Infinity War we'd have hear about her role in the film's story, seen set photos of Brie Larson, and see her in the promotional art released this past weekend at ComiCon.
That said there's nothing to say she can't appear in Avengers 4.

Fall apart? Marvel is doing fine, if it were in that much danger there'd be panic everywhere in the headlines yet they're as alive and well as they've been since 2008 when they started. Other cinematic universes out there are in hot water though - Is Universal gonna shut down plans for their Dark Universe after The Mummy's underperformance at the box office? What is going on with Sony's planned, separate Spider-Man universe that, in Amy Pascal's own words, "not set in the same universe as the Marvel Cinematic Universe but in the same reality..." |
