I thought we could talk about all the things that we worry about in Infinity War, just to be able to minimize the disappointment one could potentially experience when finally seeing the movie in theaters.
Too many characters IW will feature many characters. I worry that this could mean that characters appear and disappear inorganically in the film, or that the movie becomes strangely "segmented" to be able to include certain characters. I personally want to see ALL the heroes on screen at the same time, in a big skirmish against Thanos and the Black Order. I would welcome the Defenders to be included as well, but they should be relegated to handle "easy targets" who wouldn't wipe the floor with them in 3 seconds (which any cosmic entity obviously can).
Accents all over the place Lookin' at you, Cumberbatch.
Not enough running time IW will be around 2h 30min, but what if it's still not enough?
Bad CGI Disappointing visuals, especially if Thanos and his minions look bad. There could also be so much CGI going on that no character on screen is real at certain moments, making it look like a video game cutscene.
Misuse of villains fans of the Black Order might worry that they don't look or act cool enough or are source-accurate enough. I don't read comics so I've never heard about them, but they seem like characters that should be honored as much as Hela's portrayal in Ragnarok (I never thought they would do the headdress)
Forced kiddie humor Studio execs might want to "increase ticket sales" by shoe-horning in some GOTG2 or Ultron style jokes.
Misrepresentation of Spider-Man Since Spidey will be wearing the Iron Spider suit, I worry that he will rely too much on Stark tech and not be enough Spidey. Luckily he is said to exhibit spidey sense in the IW trailer, but you never know. Here's hoping!

All of these combined in the sense that it might prove too unwieldy. Everything that is great about Avengers Assembles works especially well thanks to it having a pretty simple plot. Age of Ultron started to buckle (not enough to kill the movie as many claimed but it was noticeable). The Russos did very well with Civil War and them being attached as directors is encouraging, not merely the Marvel logo.

I mostly worried that even tho it is unlikely Thanos wont be a good villain, its marvels major problem.

It's almost guaranteed to underperform at the box office.

It's almost guaranteed to underperform at the box office. It depends on the expectation. What does underperform mean to you?

Omelette jokes and childish slapstick humour.

You think they are going in a different direction? I keep hearing conflicting reports about it, actually. Okay, it might just be one movie now. Might. That is a huge concern of mine. I don't like hearing them say "Its not Infinity Wars part two".

I know what you mean. When first they announced it, I was like, what we are not getting a five hour all in avengers extravaganza? I really think they have something special for avengers 4 and that will be the continuation of the story. part 1 and part 2 final installments tend to be received badly like hunger games. This could be so they can distance themselves from that stigma.

A big story like Infinity Wars requires more than a two/two-and-a-half hour film to do right.

I do think they are going to avoid the blalant cliffhanger though. how i have no idea. Or the most obvious, but still awesome Thanos wields the complete gauntlet in the final shot.

Do it the same way Lord of the Rings did. Just find a good place to end Act 1, and... end Act 1. I think having Thanos wielding the completed gauntlet as the parting shot would be the best way to do it. If nothing else, Vision would have just been killed moments before, so it'd end the whole thing with a sense of "Oh crap..."

I'm trying not to get too hyped, because I don't want to put such high standards on it that it could never live up to them.

It's almost guaranteed to underperform at the box office. It depends on the expectation. What does underperform mean to you? It should be the highest-grossing MCU movie of all-time, including inflation adjustment. Anything less and the whole thing was a waste of time and a proven failure.
