My favourites included Brum and Play School (the latter, I think, must be one of the longest running Australian TV series. It says something that three generations of the same family can watch the same show as a kid) What were your favourite shows when you were 5 years old?

I liked, among others,Romper Room, Kimba the White Lion, Underdog, and the local TV station's presentation of old Little Rascals shorts. Regarding your "Filmways" quote: Eva Gabor recited that at the end of Green Acres. The Beverly Hillbillies had Donna Douglas read it in her Southern twang. Do you know of any other shows that had a character recite it in some distinctive way?

I read that some episodes of the Addams Family had a character say it, but since I've never seen that show I wouldn't know for certain. I came across the quote when watching "Green Acres", and was surprised to find out other shows used it.

Sesame Street CHiPs Charlie's Angels and Doctor Who -- though at the time I didn't know how to pronounce the word "who". I remember asking my father how you pronounce that word.

I find this thread quite odd, since I can't remember a thing from when I was 5 - least of all which shows I watched. Since I was on Romper Room, I guess it would've been a favourite at the time.

the flintstones, an hour long show that came on Saturday night that featured hanna barbera characters. I remember the show was sponsored by Kellogg's of Battlecreek; I also loved to watch combat and peyton place. I remember sneaking out of bed at night to watch peyton place. I knew all the characters by name and could call out the portrayers when there pictures came on the screen.

The Electric Company (a kids show with a cast that included Rita Moreno and an unknown Morgan Freeman, if you can believe it) Sesame Street Batman Also wonderful actress Rita Moreno ( whom before also played in the musical film - West Side Story (1961) ) yelling " Hey you guys ! " on the show's title intro - just too precious there . Thanks movielover for this memorable show reminder too .

At age five, I loved Speed Racer.
Prior to that, I also remember liking Underdog, Tennessee Tuxedo, Johnny Socko and His Flying Robot, Ultraman, and Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Battle of the Planets and Battlestar Galactica were both great, but they did not come out until I was eight.
