He's starting to become like Magneto at this point, from good to bad to good to bad again. From the looks of Thor 3, he's teaming up with with Thor and Hulk, but in the Infinity War trailer, he's seen holding the Tesserect and looks like he's handing it off to Thanos possibly. I think (and kinda hope) Loki's story ends in this film, even if that means dying, whether its against the Avengers or he betrays Thanos and is killed by him. I think there can definitely be a strong emotional pay off to it as well because how far and evolved Loki's character has become and his fan base in general.

I'd rather he died in Ragnorak, but obviously that's not happening.

Well, Loki's always playing his own game, but Thor stupidly always trusts him again. He's never really good and never truly evil; just a chaos maker and seeker of power. And Loki treats Thor and Asgard the way Colden treats this board...it's his to own and screw with and no one else can mess with it. I love Loki, but I could see others tiring of him.

I feel at this point he's been written into a corner and there's not much else to do. Same with Steve Rogers's Captain America.
