If they still plan on setting the second one in the past during the 70s/80s/Cold War, I think something they should do is depower Diana. Make her mortal essentially as part of the storyline. This would of course would be temporary since she's still young and clearly has her powers back in the present time, but we don't know what she did after World War 1, whether she went back to Themyscira or if her mother even allowed her back, but in comics, part of that was because she decided to stay in man's world, she sacrificed her immortality (not sure how much of her powers tho) so she can stay. This was of course because Steve is still alive in the comics, but in this universe, I think they could find a way to work with this plot point. I only suggest this because with any "prequel" essentially, its hard to create the proper stakes or a sense of danger for the hero. And because of that, it just seems like the film is kinda pointless, especially if it's just a contained story about Diana and it's not going to move the cinematic universe at all either. Now i think a contained story would be best for Wonder Woman, because if it's another "save the world" type thing, then it does raise questions why no one bothered to ask in Man of Steel or BvS where she has been or why no one recognized her or why she isn't talked about. But even in a contained film, the stakes can be high and I think the best way to do that is have a plot point be that she is depowered by whoever the villain is and have to fight as a mortal. Just my take on Wonder Woman 2
