The 3000 hit, 450 home run club: Hank Aaron, Stan Musiel, Carl Yastrzemski, Willie Mays, Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, Alex Rodriguez, Rafael Palmeiro, and Beltre. That's it.
Puljols should get there, but there are guys who ended less than 100 hits from 3000 (Bonds, F Robinson).

Five Thirty Eight has an article titled "Why everyone should love Adrian Beltre": fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-everyone-should-love-adrian-beltre/I'm pretty sure Mariners fans don't love him. It's impossible not to be disappointed throwing a massive contract at a guy after he posts a .334 / .388 / .629 slash line with 48 HR and 121 RBI...and then he immediately regresses from superstar numbers to an average offensive 3B. To add insult to injury, the moment he left Seattle he enjoyed a career renaissance and became a 30 HR, 100 RBI guy. Anyway I've always enjoyed watching the guy play. I can't believe he's at 3,000 and he's had only one season where he collected 200 hits. It shows the difference between durable players like Beltre, and the always-injured guys like Stanton and Tulowitski!

Add to that five Gold Gloves (deserved many more), four Silver Sluggers, four All-Star Games (deserved many more), and nine top 15 finishes in the MVP voting. Most of this after age 31. He was kind of a lackadaisical player until his contract year with the Dodgers. But one of the great players in the game's history. Where does he rank among the greatest 3b of all time? Certainly behind Michael Jack Schmidt and George Brett. But I'd put him in the mix with Chipper, Brooks, Ed Mathews. And I'd put him above Wade Boggs and Ron Santo.
