The Blood Test Scene is my favorite. John Carpenter filmed that Entire Scene Pretty Much Perfectly.

Wilford Brimley on a rampage with an axe and then a pistol. Wilford Brimley in the tool shed, trying to appear reasonable.

When Kurt comes back into the camp with dynamite, a flare, and ice on his beard. Baddass muther.
When the one guy sees the head crawling on the ground, the face he makes is priceless.
When the blood jumps up out of the petrie dish.
When the last guy living that was tied to the seats says something like "will someone kindly GET ME THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!?!" or whatever he says. Fucking hilarious.
The end. Nice way to end the movie with the two guys kind've accepting their fates.
Baddass movie.

All scenes mentioned above are great, the pacing is terrific. I'll add two more.
-Opening, Helicopter chase to research station mayhem. The guys all standing outside watching, clueless, until they start getting shot and blown up.
-Wilford Brimley running his simulation through the 1980 3MHZ Pentium. It tied in the opening, ending and hid Brimley as a likely infected suspect for most of the film. If the creature reaches open population, humans will be wiped out in days. we got that in about 30 secs, not 10 minutes of characters yapping about it. Again, great pacing.

If I may ask you this.....What did you think of the 2011 Prequel to "John Carpenter's THE THING" ?

2011 Prequel? You must have a had a fever dream. No such horrendous thing ever happened. Perhaps one day such a thing (See what I did there?) will happen, but it hasn't yet. Awful reboot/remake/sequel/prequel pieces of crap are to be discounted. So it didn't happen...
