is not the same as watching it on a TV (or DVD player) or in a movie hall. when you watch it on your computer, you always have many chats going on, there are news websites to check and forums to refresh. you could disconnect the internet, but thats somehow not possible. so it is impossible to get completely involved in the movie when youre watching it on a computer.
discuss.

True to an extent. But you can always choose to ignore those stuff. It's better than watching a movie at the cinemas. In India, they actually censored some words in Dunkirk. What is the point of such a movie going experience?
Perhaps watching movie on DVD or connecting your external HDD to the tv is the best option presently.

Even if I'm off my laptop and watching on the TV, I've still got a phone in my hands and also talking to whoever else is watching. The only way to watch uninterrupted for me is to go to the theatres.

ever since theaters went to digital or whatever, the sound has decreased in terms of bass. before theaters used to shake, now its just like im wtaching movies at home.

If it is interesting enough then whatever is on my laptop gets undivided attention.

i watched CHINATOWN over a period of 8 hours. bit by bit. frankly, downloading movies does let me watch some rare movies. but ultimately, if you are an asshole like me without any concentration, then its no use. you cant really enjoy the film on a computer. its a waste.

There's also the option to stream movies to the TV using Chromecast/Firestick. Much better than watching movies on the laptop.
