tony bruno legend in philly - moved to the West Coast and was pretty popular in L.A. two rival sports stations here - 94.1 WIP and 97.5 The Fanatic. sadly in life we all make this mistake - i know i have. you think the grass is greener on the other side. Bruno left 97.5 for 94.1 and his gig with his new partner Josh Innes (a Howard Stern wannabe who was later fired and is back in Houston) was brutal. doing podcasts now. great hysterical sports host who will have you in stitches. he's like the uncle you want to get a beer with and go to Hooters and get some Wings - he's Dorky as hell - but has you in stitches and used to make the work day fly by.

Bit like his stand-up then! I tried to listen to his podcast a few years back, but he was waffling on about these things called Grid Iron, Baskethoops, Baseballs and Hockey, but it wasn't normal hockey that most people on planet earth play, it was this weird hockey that you play on ice! Then I thought, maybe that was just a one off, maybe he was on magic mushrooms, so I gave him another chance, but he did exactly the same thing again. You don't get third chances with me. I get that he was trying to make these strange fangled games sound interesting and funny, but I'm not too keen on podcasts where you feel like you want to skip large segments. Shame, because the rest of it was quite good.

Bit like his stand-up then! I can see why you would be starved for good stand-up comedy. The one Brit stand-up comedian is only known for his taste in clothes.

Please, can a man not wear high heels and a mini skirt without people like you making comments on his appearance? You know what you are, transphobic. For goodness sake Goodman, it's the 21st century! Anyway, he's so 90s, there are loads of Brits killing it at the moment, just off the top of my head, Kevin Bridges, Jason Manford, Sean Locke, Stewart Lee, Dara Ó Briain. Check 'em out. And you know what our 2nd rate comedians do? They end up landing top jobs presenting top American chatshows... while Bill Burr is still doing podcasts in his grundies. You just can't get enough of us!

And when one Brit standup ever gets near the fame of Bruce, Carlin, Pryor, Murphy, Rock, Burr, Black etc. then call me. Has the UK done anything genuinely funny since Python?

I doubt the average person in Britain has even heard of most those guys. I only do because I watch a lot of stand-up. Only really Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor are well known, and that's really more to do with them being in films. If you asked someone here who the comedian Chris Rock is, and even showed them a picture, they'll probably be more likely to say "oh, is that the guy from Rush Hour III?". And anyway: The Office (you might have heard of Ricky Gervais, he's the British guy you fly over to take the piss out of all your actors) Extras Peep Show Blackadder The Inbetweeners Father Ted Yes Minister The Thick Of It I'm Alan Partridge Red Dwarf Only Fools and Horses The Royle Family The list is endless... So look, it's not my fault Bill Burr's career is going down the pan, and you lot fly British comedians over instead to host all your award ceremonies and all your chatshows because your guys can't cut it.

For a guy trying to discuss comedy you really need to develop a new routine. Your 'Brits are better than Americans' nonsense shtick hasn't been funny or entertaining for a very long time. Work on some new material for once.
