Claire Forlani was thought to be part of Hollywood's next A-list in the late 90's after Meet Joe Black, her appearance in Mystery Men the following year was small but was made more prominent by the media -- However, the movie underperformed big time at the box office. The following year she was one of the leads in Boys and Girls with then it guy Freddie Prinze Jr. which also struggled at the box office and did very poor with critics. 2001's Anti-Trust also didn't do too hot either where she was also one of the leads. In 2003, she was Jackie Chan's co-star in The Medallion, which not only met terrible word of the mouth but also only opened at no. 5 at the box office on opening weekend in the U.S. Since then, her career's been pretty, well, 'diverse' is probably the best word to use here, from guest appearances on CSI: NY, NCIS: LA, Hawaii Five-O to one of the leads in Starz's Camelot series, being the love interest in an Uwe Boll film( In the Name of the King), and even beer commercials using a different accent. I recall hearing that a TV series was in the works with her as one of the leads opposite of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje with Natalie Portman in a producing role but nothing ever came of an announcement. I used to have a bit of a crush on Claire Forlani growing up. She was a real beauty. Shame about her career. I wish her role in The Rock would've been larger. I recall reading that she tried out for, and almost got, the part of "Rose" from Titanic, can only imagine where her career would've gone had she got that part.

Taylor Kitsch . He had TWO massive bombs in 2012 (John Carter & Battleship) . He was basically set up for failure imo . I still like the guy and consider John Carter to be a lot of dumb fun . Also I think he was good in Friday Night Lights (TV series) , Savages , The Bang Bang Club, and Lone Survivor. He's still getting some steady work so thats good . Hopefully he'll have another chance at a leading actor role. I know Hollywood is courting Channing Tatum for the Gambit movie (if it ever happens) but Kitsch was pretty good as Gambit in X Men Origins : Wolverine and I'd welcome him to reprise the role. Plus, he 'd be way cheaper than Channing Tatum. Wasn't Taylor Lautner supposed to be the next big thing? That guy cannot act AT ALL. I get these two mixed up all the time.

Shia Lebeouf- he had a run ..in not sure what happened. I think it was his reputation of being difficult to work with. From my understanding that is entirely his own fault.
You are not going to do well when you publically bash the movies you are in.
Shia's still a recognizable name though, albeit not so much for his roles these days but when he does a movie most usually are intrigued to say the least, but yeah he really dug himself into a hole. Hope he turns around and pulls a Robert Downey Jr. as opposed to sticking on course to being the new Charlie Sheen.

Alicia SilverstoneLooking at the wiki page, and the section for awards/nominations she seemed to be the next big thing as she was awarded Best Villain, Best Breakthrough Performance, Best Female Newcomer, Funniest Actress in a Motion Picture, Best Female Performance and Most Desirable Female Actress, all within a 2 years span. But on the other hand, she did get the Worst Supporting Actress not long afterwards for Batman & Robin, and then it seemed like her upcoming period more or less died very fast. She went from doing music videos for Aerosmith to becoming one of the most promising young teenage actors starring as the lolita/femme fatale in the erotic/thrillers such as The Crush (1993) and The Babysitter (1995), and when Clueless (1995) came out, she seemed to hit off with both the critics and audience alike. In 1997 she got the part of Batgirl in Batman & Robin and later the same year she got the lead in the romantic/comedy Excess Baggage against Christpher Walken and Benicio Del Toro. Do not remember any other of her 90s films, but compared with Claire Danes, Keri Russell, Reese Witherspoon and other teen stars, she seeemed to never reach the same heights as of the mid 90s, and I have not seen a film with her since the awful Scorched (2003), but I almost picked up a horror film called Vamps (2012), where she is supposedly one of the leading parts. Looking at the IMDb she seems to have done a lot of new films since 2012, but nothing that looks like they might give her a comeback of any kind. And a lot of them is voice talent related, which I think she began with as early as back in 2000-01 with the animated show, Braceface. I remember having a huge crush and a gigantic poster of Alicia hanging on my bedroom wall, but I had to take it down as my mum was not too impressed, still I had a great VHS copy of the erotic/thriller The Crush (1993). The kind of typical early 90s thriller with a psycho female in the lead role, serving as the temptress for some naive guy who's life is suddenly turning into a living nightmare etc, but still one of the better or more enjoyable erotic thrillers of that era. Not sure why her career bombed so sudden, as from 1992-95 she seemed to be on a great roll of success with several big MTV music videos, erotic thrillers and then hit it real big with Clueless, but after that the only film I saw of her was a rather bad crime/comedy with Christopher Walken in 97 and of course as Batgirl in Batman & Robin (1997). Which I guess was a bad move for everybody involved. Good call. Some months ago I was at the movies and saw a preview for "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" and went "...Alicia Silverstone?" Its a pity her career took such a dive, I think if she hadn't done Batman & Robin it would've endured longer success.

James Caviezel after The Thin Red Line and The Passion of the Christ. He did sort of bounce back with Person of Interest and did lead a little football drama called "When the Game Stands Tall", but not much is coming his way that's particularly huge. Too bad he's not given more stuff, he's a great actor.

Hugh Dancy. Supposedly, he was going to be the next big hot, young British thing in theaters, but that sure never happened. Had to settle for playing second fiddle to former King Arthur co-star Mads Mikkelsen. I wouldn't say second fiddle, Mikkelsen may have been the titular character but Dancy did a lot on his own and was nominated for several awards for his work. He's also one of the leads on HULU's hit original series The Path.

Well... where did Edward Nortons career go? He's still around, but outside of Birdman he's been pretty "just there" in a lot of his recent stuff.

True that, people thought he was going to hit it big after Superman Returns but now he's The Atom for The CW.

Barry Pepper. Great things were predicted for him after Saving Private Ryan, he had smaller parts in some successfull movies like Enemy Of The State, The Green Mile and We Were Soldiers but I guess Battlefield Earth had a lasting negative impact on his career. Chris Klein. Some people thought that after American Pie he could become a succesfull leading man. Hell, I remember Premiere magazine thought he had a higher chance of becoming an A-lister than Jake Gyllenhaal (LOL!). Rollerball pretty much put an end to all these hopes. Good pick on Pepper. Wish he got bigger parts.

Sam Worthington. Starred in big hits like Avatar, Clash of the Titans, and Terminator:Salvation. Hasn't done anything big since then. He was in the Oscar nominated Hacksaw Ridge and was the lead in The Shack earlier this year. I think he's on a TV mini-series coming up. Avatar 2 will likely give his career a boost.

Good pick on Pepper. Wish he got bigger parts. He did recently get a well deserved emmy for his in The Kennedys, but yes. Kind of ironic that out of all of Hanks' men in Saving Private Ryan, the biggest success is Vin Diesel. How about Skeet Ulrich? Scream was supposed to be his breakout, but he never really did. Even Freddie Prinze Jr. enjoyed a flash in the pan.

I haven't seen Juliette Lewis in much since the mid-90s and she was in her early 20s then with an Oscar nom and a host of well known movies.

Dyan Cannon was groomed for superstardom. She got off to a fast start with the Swingin’ Sixties comedy as Alice in “Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice” (1969). Then, through the early ‘70s, she was in a string of hit movies: The Anderson Tapes (1971), The Love Machine (1971), Shamus (1973), and The Last of Sheila (1973), then a dry spot until The Revenge of the Pink Panther (1978), Honeysuckle Rose (1980), and Deathtrap (1978). She even married Cary Grant and had a child with him. And that was it. There were just a couple more in the ’80s, a small handful of undistinguished titles in the ‘90s (“Caddyshack II” “8 Heads In A Duffel Bag”). Some cameos in the 2000s. Her marriage to Grant has made her the answer to a trivia question.
Melinda Dillon has two Oscar noms for Best Supporting Actress (Close Encounters 1977 and Absence of Malice 1981). Since then, a steady worker through the end of the 20th century but roles in mostly forgotten movies.
Teri Garr was funny and sexy in “Young Frankenstein” (1974), was a stand out in “Close Encounters” (1977), was Oscar nominated for “Tootsie” (1982), had two or three other good roles in the early '80s and then…minor supporting roles through the 20th century. Worked a lot in television.

Well... where did Edward Nortons career go? Norton's ego has made directors shy away from casting him. That's what I have heard anyway.

Mel Gibson actually told him that starring in The Passion of the Christ might ruin his career.
