Well, slightly more than half a million to be more precise. That's the understanding. What do you think of it all, then?

I think where does it end? How much is too much for just kicking a ball around?

I only hope for PSG's sake that he doesn't pick up a bad injury.
Messi is on £500k pw and CR7 around £365k pw.(will he be pissed or what ?) I can see a few agents knocking on clubs' financial directors' doors soon. The knock-on effect, I think, will be other players and their agents reevaluating current wages. They may not be as good as Neymar but probably better than most of the rest. £100k pw now looks average

So he earns > twice as much per week than Angela Merkel earns per year.
How many people are living off that money, though?
Oh, I'm not supposed to ask that, I learned last week. That's racist.

I was wondering about the much publicized (well, it was heavily flaunted a while back) Financial Fair Play ruling. But where there's a will there is a way to out-manoeuvre schemes like this. Man City and PSG in particular, it seems, have found that way.
This from April 2017. Source : CityWatch But now, with the frightening sum of 200 million pounds being paid for a player, it seems that PSG may be due for inspection from UEFA's FFP pen-pushers. But I doubt it. The official lines between laying down restrictions to clubs, rewarding those big-spending clubs that comply, and then re-examining little details like an astronomical Neymar transfer fee, seem very blurred, to my eyes.
What are the rulings for FFP, and who really benefits?

Thing is, reportedly PSG don't pay the fee. Neymar pays the fee, and is compensated by the Qataris.

PSG turned up with £200m this morning at La Liga's offices, only to be told to go away, come back another day. This is all getting a trifle muddled, eh?

I once went to the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Pres wearing a PSG jersey and it may have been the most meta moment of my life. If I had Neymar's paycheck I'd donate some of it to the church.
