Simon & Garfunkel, by a very large margin.
Probably the greatest gulf in quality between original and cover since Whitney's abhorrent murdering of Dolly's beautiful "I Will Always Love You".

That Disturbed version can only be seen as a weird attempt to gain a higher profile by recording a comically bad cover. There's some really weird autotune moments in there, too.

I actually did not do an official vote on this one only because I really prefer & enjoyed both songs ( and there wasn't a third choice of " BOTH " there either ? ) . Although the lyrics are exactly the same on each version of these fine songs yet both of course has taken two different & unique approaches to it as well . The wonderful original by Simon & Garfunkel . It's truly thoughtful yet at the same time an " unwind after the day is ended to quietly reflect on " feel with this particular fine version . The revamped version by the band - Disturbed . It's more of a powerful epic version that is made for the listener to really take notice at the serious lyrics being told within it . All of this IMPO of course . Thanks so much Falconia for your subject post .

I have a soft spot for Disturbed. This isn't very good, but at least they didn't go the full out guitars and drums route. I'd say I've heard worst covers, though. Just can't think of any right now.

Oh no I'm sorry Falconia it really was no problem for me here and I certainly hope I didn't seem a bit " nit-picky " on this here either . It's so not in my Dinotopian nature to be that way also - especially here . I tend NOT to be a stickler especially on these boards also . IMPO - This is all suppose to be fun here definitely not a contest of wills or of who is better than whom etc. ( this certainly is NOT the OLD IMDB ) . We are all here to just have fun and share too . Again thanks so much Falconia for your subject post .

With all due respect to the talented duo , who even managed to impress with their new live versions of this song , I think Disturbed Dave should have his due with their meta-classical version of this iconic folk song !

S&G by a very large margin. Nothing against Disturbed. Have a few of their CDs from a while back but this cover is a whole lot of nothing. Not sure this song should be covered at all because the original is very distinctive, but in any case Disturbed should have found something else.

I like Whitney's version better. If I had to pick a "greatest gulf in quality between original and cover" I would go with Limp Bizkit butchering George Michael's "Faith", and I assure you I am NOT saying that because it's cool to hate on Limp Bizkit and/or because it's been less than a year since George's death. I've called that one of the worst covers since hearing it in 1998.

I've never heard that particular cover and have no real desire to, but I'm not even really a fan of the original so for me the gulf may not be quite as large on that one.
