I like how Kirbyesque they look, particularly the parademon. I wonder if they'll lampshade (to use a term from TV Tropes) Steppenwolf's resemblance to Ares?

Can't wait for all the Ares comparisons come film release. (yes i know they're not IDENTICAL) Steppenwolf looks far more demonic than Ares, so people will probably be more lenient to how he looks.

"lampshade" that is.

The TV Tropes website can explain it a lot better than I can (as they coined the term), but basically, it means highlighting something that a viewer might notice and question, potentially taking them out of the story/their suspension of disbelief, and by pre-emptively highlighting it, showing that the writers are aware of it as well, and thus by "hanging a lampshade on it", can quickly get it out of the way and get back on with the story, hopefully without majorly disrupting the narrative flow.
(Incidentally, TV Tropes is great and somewhat lighthearted but clever site taking a knowing and analytical look at many of the common themes, ideas etc, found recurring throughout popular media; tv, movies, books, comics, videogames, etc. It's easy to end up browsing it for ages just by following links to other links.)

Yeah it's a fun website.
