I've never seen this film but I've read that its one of the worst films ever made. Just looking at some of the pics of the actors in this makes me crack up laughing (esp Travolta ) Barry Pepper looks utterly ridiculous as well haha . Thinking about checking it out sometime this weekend so I can just laugh at it while I'm high as a kite.
Who here has seen it? Just how awful is it?

It's up there with Batman and Robin as the worst big-budget theatrical production ever made.
No redeemable qualities, whatsoever.
Horrid acting, dialogue, special effects, and camera work.
It does feature some hilarious one-liners from Travolta, though.

It's one of those movies that's so bad it's unintentionally hilarious.

darkknightofgotham pretty much nailed it. It's puzzlingly terrible. "Batman and Robin" is a good comparison. There are laughs to be had, but its a big, loud turd. The cinematography is really weird...the camera angle is always slanted. It's as if the photographer was wearing one of those airplane-neck pillows the whole time. As a fan of the book, I was excited to see this when it came out in theatres. Can't say it wasn't an...interesting theatrical experience, but they botched it big time.

John Travolta is trying to make his version of "The Passion of the Christ" for Scientology, but his acting and everyone else's acting is SO BAD it's painful.
Have you ever watched a theological film that is supposed to be serious, but the acting is so bad you are laughing at things that are meant to be taken seriously?
It's that level bad. You know they are trying to tell the story of Scientology, but it feels like a bad "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" episode.
