Bowman and '97 Detroit. Flyers and the Legion of Doom were supposed to go in there an annihilate the Red Wings with their brute force. Red Wings skated circles around them and swept them. It was painstaking watching as a kid. I think this is the Cup Finals where you see Brind'Amour crying and bawling his eyes out on the bench as Game 4 was about to be over like a kid - tough watch. The blank stares on Linrdos, Renbergh's LeClair's faces - with Terry Murray - the coach at the time - his arms around them consoling them like children who just got taken behind a woodshed and were in shellshock. Think this was the Cup too where Murray came out pretty much stating he compared the series to a 'choking feeling' while the series was still going on - which pretty much got him vilified in Philly which lead to his eventually demise and being let go. |
