Yup. Germany does indeed not have separation between church and state; and if a cult is recognized as a religion, it can have the state collect taxes for it. Jehovah's Witnesses have tried for years to become a religion; they have failed. Latter-Day Saints however are recognized as a religion. Hopefully (IMO), Pastafarians have a better chance at becoming a religion than Jehovah's Witnesses. Meaning: Zero.

Is that tax payer funded? I don't belong to a religion; but there are religions that are allowed to mutilate boy penises, and are tax payer funded. Judaism and Islam come to mind. Germany is a great country, but it is not perfect.
