A devote Muslim superhero with the same name as the most prominent Islamic terrorist organization out there?
ISIS
Will she be performing any beheadings ... or tossing gays from rooftops?

What are you talking about? ISIS is an Egyptian goddess. That has nothing to do with anything Muslim.

Just like how Bane is named after Mitt Romney's Bain Capital, you know.

oh cupcake, we have been here before! A bit of basic education (starting with ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman mythology) would clarify who or what is braindead here. In the name of Isis and Osiris I tell you: while beauty fades, stupidity never does.

Not any more. DC just turned ISIS into a Muslim superhero. Apparently, it is another case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Did you just leap into another thread without knowing what you're talking about?
Try brushing up on your current events, Ace.
Do you feel stupid, yet?

This is the first I've ever heard of such. Apparently the OP is referring to some new character on Legends of Tomorrow who happens to be Muslim. I'm not certain what the OP's point is, since a Muslim superhero isn't exactly new for either DC or Marvel, but I will admit that calling her character "Isis" is a bit of a bizarre decision, even if the name technically has nothing to do with Islam.

If I had to take a guess, their decision to call the character "Isis" might be an attempt to disassociate the name from the infamous terrorist organization.

If I had to take a guess, their decision to call the character "Isis" might be an attempt to disassociate the name from the infamous terrorist organization. That can have a way of backfiring. Especially when every time they say her name all people will think about is the terrorist group. You see the people from Archer changed the name of and disbanded their spy group real quick.

There is no "happens" ... as if it was incidental. It was a deliberate decision to turn ISIS into a devote Muslim.
Wait for it ...
... there you go! Trump Derangement Syndrome begets the bizarre.
The I in ISIS stands for Islamic.

The I in ISIS stands for Islamic. 1. No one is turning ISIS the organization into a superhero. 2. You're making it sound as though the name "Isis" originated with the terrorist group. As the previous posts clearly stated, Isis is the name of an Egyptian goddess. I'm not referring to the acronym that the Islamic terrorist group goes by, I'm referring to the original name that came from Egyptian mythology.
