They reject pointless sequels like Pirates 5 and TF5 and even Deapocable Me 3 and Fast 8 performed under expectations while international audiences still flock to them in droves. Why?

I don't think it's film taste as much as the possibility that an American Blockbuster is probably quite the unique and fun event in many other countries.

I don't think it's a taste thing so much as it is a wear and tear thing, at least with the mentioned films. Pirates of the Caribbean, Transformers, and Fast and the Furious have overstayed their welcome as most films with more than two sequels often do.
