Harry Potter is better than Marvel, DC and Star Wars. Change my mind. If you include the Disney contributions and the Holiday Special under the Star Wars umbrella, then I can't disagree. There's no question in my mind that HP is better than the MCU or DCEU. The characters are much richer, and there's a ton of mythology/lore/worldbuilding done with an attention to detail and a commitment to a cohesive, overall aesthetic that's just not present in the latter two and severely lacking in all of the Disney Wars flicks. How would you feel about WB remaking 1-7? I've tried to watch Fantastic Beasts 3 times. As a huge fan of original books and movies, I also struggled with the first FB movie. It wasn't bad at all, just kind of draggy at some parts and a bit predictable, but I also never really found myself fully invested or engaged with it. The second one looks better, but I've only seen one trailer. You gonna check it out?

I kinda would like to see what I did see translated over into X-men movies. Make the students the main part of it with Xavier pushed back to being more Dumbledore-ish.
*Not saying the movies are bad, just not something I'll get invested in.

Since enough time past. I would hope that with the readapting the books WB would add more to the film's that we haven't gotten from the last adaption. But my main concern is the casting. Alan Rickman is Snape to me. I would have a hard time excepting someone else in the role.

I sort of expect something closer to this type of approach from the MCU than what we got from Fox. If you include the Disney contributions and the Holiday Special under the Star Wars umbrella, then I can't disagree. There's no question in my mind that HP is better than the MCU or DCEU. I feel like the ghosts and some of the other subplots should totally be included in future versions. As for casting, there's gonna be some tradeoffs for sure; there was only one Alan Rickman. ETA: re: the 25-30 year timeframe: I would personally be shocked if they went this long before remaking them, but maybe that's just cynicism.

I was thinking that a tv series on HBO would be a good way to do a reboot of Harry Potter.

There are so many sad and miserable souls who actually think ‘Twilight’ series is better than MCU here.

So be honest: are you more team vampire or team werewolf?

Alright fellas be honest with me. How many of you watched the entire Twilight series?
And don't give me that "My girlfriend made me" nonsense.

There are so many sad and miserable souls who actually think ‘Twilight’ series is better than MCU here. and what exactly makes mcu better than twilight?both franchises are known for their awful story telling and generic plots. in all fairness to twilight, the series was aimed for teens first.
mcu is aimed for kids first.teens are suppose to be better than kids by technicality.

The MCU is about as high above HP as HP is above Twilight.

Alright fellas be honest with me. How many of you watched the entire Twilight series? And don't give me that "My girlfriend made me" nonsense. Jamais. And I never want to, either. It seems absolutely dreadful to me. My cousin was once interested in the books when they were wildly popular; she showed me some pages from them. They made J.K. Rowling seem like Dickens—and I’m not even a big Potter fan! (Seriously, I’m not a big Potter fan, but thank God for Miss Rowling; she writes, characterizes, and plots well and got kids to read. Amen to that.)

Anyway, the bigger question…
As I wrote above, I’m not a big Potter fan. I read the books and enjoyed some of them (and parts in all of them), though Rowling (despite my praise of her above) got too pretentious towards the end, as her books got so long you could use them for doorstops. I think Goblet of Fire may be the best of the (book) series, though I have a soft spot for Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone, which I first bought and read on a family vacation to Canada (so I have it under the first title).
The movies are good, but the best ones are the early ones, all childhood wonder, joy, and fantasy. Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets are delightful and charming, and the whole thing is good fun. The Prisoner of Azkaban is a marvellous film, and from a filmmaking perspective the best of the lot, but it’s the first one that loses the wonder. It does, thank God, avoid the much of the overarching plot.
Then it goes downhill with Goblet of Fire (ironically, as again I think it’s possibly Rowling’s best book). It’s not horrible, but it’s long and meandering—and then the series takes a nosedive and becomes all gloom and doom and dolor. And the imagination and fun get sucked right out of it, like a Dementor’s kiss. Too bad. I kept watching the movies, but I’m not a huge fan. Again, the first few were great, though.

Just about in terms EVERYTHING. Visuals, music, acting, production values, directing, cinematography (especially with special effects-heavy films), makeup, costumes, and so on. Oh, and they spend their film budget quite accordingly. Also, by the logic of your last sentence, ‘Twilight’ series would be better than films made by Pixar.

My ex made me watch the last 2 though I probably would have watched them anyway at some point because I always finish what I start. I didn’t hate them.

The main problem for the HP movies for me is the acting of the 3 main leads. These were 3 children with very limited acting skill and experience and it showed. Not their fault, I think they did a splendid job despite their lack of training. Still, it made for very weak leads for a big budget movie.
