Theists, it can be observed, often appear to feel guilty if they are not persecuted and victimised. It was after all what their Christ predicted and one suspects for many, if they are not put-upon, then perhaps unconsciously they feel as if they are doing things wrong. As for mockery and ridicule - well, one imagines these sting so much because humour is often the most potent weapon again religion, and always has been. Religion, especially of the traditional sort, is desperate to be taken seriously. But then there is so much to laugh at.
Having said that personally I try and make it a rule to confront ideas and beliefs, not people; and I certainly agree that
- but, then again, no one has the same right not to 'feel insulted' and moreover it is axiomatic that it is people who have the rights in any case, not ideas. So I reserve the right to scorn and laugh in the face of Creationism of all sorts and some of the more eccentric belief systems, come what may.
This of course is exactly what some of the most devoutly-challenged do to non-believers, all of the time.

But they were deliberately attacking an old lady and going after her appearance, mocking her, bullying her, posting her facebook status, and the rest. Unnecessary.

I laugh and scorn at both Christians and atheists. Both are equally stupid in their unyielding beliefs.

How would one know that God had not intended this old lady to be tested? Such things, after all were predicted by Christ and are supposedly sent by God to make one's faith stronger.

It was ongoing on IMDb boards. And it is continuing here. They not only mock the believers, but they bully them and even harass them constantly. This should not be allowed. Everyone has a right to believe what they want to believe, and discuss it here. If you don't agree with their beliefs, then don't bother them. You are not supposed to tell the other person what to believe. They are free to choose whatever they want to. Please keep this place civil. What was your name on IMDb?

To seriously answer you...
It's not bullying Ada...
It's more like Jesus' attitude to the money lenders... not putting up with that crap...
She/it deliberately flames, so can't be surprised when she gets flamed back.

What was your name on IMDb? I'm only asking what your user name was. Given you claim to have been on the IMDb religion board and looking at the number of posts you've made here, I think that's a fair request. I'd like to know if you are truly aware of the sort of poster afeena is, because nothing you've said has made me think you are.

No. I have seen Christians like Ada and Erjen being bullied, mocked, parodied, et al on IMDb RFS and here too. You have to admit Ada can be very unpleasant to people without any provocation - if she was a bit nicer in putting forward her views I don't think she'd get half as much flack. Erjen is usually ok, but he can be pretty free with his homophobic slurs, again without much provocation. He also seems to take a weird delight at the thought of gay people burning in hell. Christians like Steve Allaby, Gadreel or Londonbird don't seem to get bullied by atheists at all. In fact they get more flack from Ada than from any of the atheists from what I've seen.

Atheists bully people? How about if you dont make it sound like atheists are a homonoges group? I dont bully, what I can do is to answer a person in the same way as they first behaved towards me. This is one of the biggest problems in the world, the tendency to blame entire groups for the actions of an individual.
Ahwina or whatever she calls herself today behaved enormously bad toward everyone that didn't buy into her crap and especially toward homosexuals.
And a persons age, country of origin etc should not prevent people from putting their foot down when they write bigot/racist etc opinions.

In other words it is malicious verbal assaults designed to damage or tarnish the reputation of a person. Once done, these acts are often difficult to reverse or rectify. Therefore it is likened to a literal assassination of a human life. The damage sustained can last a lifetime or, for historical figures and important personalities, for many centuries after their death. It involves a deliberate attempt to destroy a person's reputation, especially by criticizing them in an unfair and dishonest way when they are not present. It can also involve exaggeration or manipulation of facts to present an untrue picture of the targeted person, double speak, spreading of rumors, innuendo or deliberate misinformation on topics relating to the subject's morals, integrity, and reputation. It is a form of defamation.

In fact they get more flack from Ada than from any of the atheists from what I've seen. www.huffingtonpost.ca/ryan-pannell/character-assassination_b_6017046.htmlHow to Survive a Character Assassination Don't fight back. At least, don't lower yourself to use the tools the would-be character assassin has inarguably lowered themselves by using. The best defence against any character assassination is to maintain your integrity and take pride in what you do, whatever that may be. Fighting back just feeds the fire, and clouds the issue. Someone says, "You know, Bob was saying some pretty unflattering things about you..." You say: "Really? I'm disappointed to hear that." And carry on with whatever actual business you have in your life; don't give Bob another minute. See what happened there? See what you did? Let me break it down: No emotion. Why? Because Bob doesn't matter. At all. Ever. To anyone, least of all you. You used the word "disappointed," and not the more typical "sorry." Why would you be sorry? What've you got to be sorry about? F Bob; you're disappointed. Immediately Bob appears childish and petty to the double-checker, and you (inexplicably, which is the cool part of this bit) appear as someone whose approval actually matters and is something to be desired. You continue on with your business. Why? See point one about Bob, above. Because you're above it. Because you're important. Because you've got shit to do. And because what Bob says has no bearing on your life. You take that route consistently, and Bob's toast -- at least, with respect to you and your character. Think it matters who Bob is? Nope. Think it matters that you're an IT Manager and Bob's the CEO? Nope. And here's why: because integrity cannot be bound by any means. By handling yourself in this way you've highlighted that you've got it, and Bob doesn't. Fight over. Sure, old Bob may go about trying to pull more people out of your tent and into his, but in the end if you keep your integrity, no one will want to go into Bob's tent. Ultimately, character assassination has absolutely nothing to do with YOU; it has everything to do with the person who's engaging in it. And THAT, should make you feel better and allow you to leave it behind you, where it belongs.

Where am i bullying and discrediting them? It is so typical of people here. First they start with an objectively amicable sentence that most people agree with. Then comes their agenda. It is like a jackal rounding up its victim.
