Read about this regressive back-step to when Microsoft tried to force their specific software apps onto everyone, before the great US vs Microsoft monopoly lawsuit loss. support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4020089/windows-10-s-faqThey certainly want to reinstitute their old methods of total control, but this time just by fooling consumers into thinking it's better for the consumer.

There would be no lawsuit, consumers have many choices. But why would they want to ruin windows, the great thing about it is you can run almost everything. No one is going to buy a pc to run mobile apps.

I think having apps instead of programs was a ridiculous idea to begin with. I like my desktop PC to be exactly that. It's not like I lug the thing around with me wherever I go.
Forget it, I'm not installing "S". I think I'll keep Windows 10 Pro. That's what I essentially paid for when upgrading from Windows 7 Ultimate (Pro).
Besides, there is a Windows 10 OS that has none of the above. It's called Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB). Unfortunately, you can only purchase it at high volume. It's mostly for businesses.
