Ha Ha. The guy is trash. There is a reason he has not been signed. If he were good, none of his off the field stuff and kneeling stuff would matter. As it stands he is not good, so no team wants to deal with the headache.

Miami would have signed RGIII or Christian Ponder before they singed Kaepernick. There has to be more to him than his anthem antics. I'd bet my last dollar that his has a reputation as a problem child/clubhouse cancer. Cutler is overweight and out of shape and the Fishies still would rather have him than Col.
Why not go to Canada? Seem like the CFL would be a good fit for him and he could get his image back, both on field and off. I could easily see him going the Warren Moon/Doug Flutie route. Unless his political stance means more. Once the season starts, he's yesterday's news.

What a farce that rally will be. No different from a lunatic liberal political rally.

So what owners / GMs are saying is that Kaepernick isn't one of the top 64 QBs in the league? I call BS. By the simple fact that he is ambulatory he is automatically better than anything on the Jets and Browns. The stupid media built this non-story up to ridiculous proportions. If Michael Vick got a job straight out of jail, why can't this guy, who really didn't do anything wrong?

This is getting ridiculous. They are trying to make it sound like theres this big conspiracy to keep him off an NFL roster. Well theres no conspiracy. He's not signed simply because no team so far has believe that he could make their team better. Theres even a petition going on asking for the boycott of the NFL. I dont think any real NFL fans will boycott the NFL just because of one player still being a free agent in August.

He's not signed simply because no team so far has believe that he could make their team better. That's ridiculous. Teams think he could make them better, but the circus and distraction and blowback outweighs that for them. Sure, no collusion. But the owners are 100% rich and 100% white, and at least 1 had overriden the coach and general manager's recommendation.

Also, a lot of people seems to forget that he put himself in that situation. He decided to opt out of his contract with the 49ers. And it wasnt exactly the right time to do so. He should have simply stay with the 49ers.

Spike spelled his buddies name wrong. You know that image went through numerous viewings by spikes sycophants and ALL of them were too stupid to notice the mistake. Maybe spike should think about a little diversity in his crew.

I felt bad for Kaepernick with all the abuse he was getting. His protest looked respectful to me.
I think his teammates could have had his back too. In any team, you may fall out with guys, you might make jokes at others expense, you might not particularly like someone, but when it comes to something that really matters to someone you rally round if you are any kind of team.
Bit like when a friend or colleague comes at you with a sponsored walk, for something you don't give a shit about, like, I dunno “the preservation of butterflies in Somerset”, you still bung them 10 or 20 quid, or a petition to stop a new Nandos Restaurant being built over some conservation ground. You might actually really like the idea of a new Nandos in town, their chicken is pretty tasty, but you still grit your teeth and sign that petition when it is for someone that matters to you. You'd have to be really against that cause to not want to throw them a bone.
Would he have received the same criticism if he was protesting against Whale fishing or the extinction of Bengali Tigers? I don't know, I doubt it. I think he would have got a pat on the back for standing up for something he cares about even if no one else gives a shit.
But his teammates were a bit tight I think. Would it have really killed them to have just joined him once?
Because that's what you do in a team, you co-operate. You help each other out. Because tomorrow, who knows, you might need their help. Maybe the 49ers aren't a real team?
Although maybe you could argue he should have found another way of protesting once it was obvious his team didn't have his back? Perhaps... not surprised he walked though, I would have too.

The NFL has a huge military presence before the games and in their advertising demographic. When Kaepernick decided to call patriotism into question he alienated every one of those GI's and the NFL bigwigs. Kaepernick is another in a long list of "look at me" black athletes. Fuck him....he's reaping what he's sown.

Fuck him....he's reaping what he's sown. It has nothing to do with patriotism. It had to do with what he felt were abuses taken by law enforcement. The whole "soldiers died for our flag" bullshit and that overblown Toby Keith type of "patriotism" has nothing to do with why he knelt.

Whatever convoluted reason he had for making a spectacle of himself doesn't matter. what matters is public perception of this millionaire jackass refusing to stand for the National Anthem of the country that allowed him to make those millions.

You mean the country that was founded on the principle of standing up for what is right despite what the "authorities" say?
