Another poster made a thread like this, I forgot who, but I totally agree!
I listen to ESPN radio a lot. On weekends at 8AM, I think it's steve smith or something, has his show and ALL he talks about is the DAMN KNICKS. its the offseason for NBA. NFL is starting up soon, mlb is in the dog days of august, and all he can talk about is the fucking knicks! melo this, melo that, who cares? they are the worst team in a sport that is in the offseason.
I see on espn they talk about the NBA a lot more than they used to in the offseason. It's too much. what has gotten so special about the nba that they are covering it so much more than they used to in the offseason?

It was me who said that. And it's ESPN. Network is hemorrhaging subscribers and I think they hitched their wagon to basketball and the NBA. All of their programing is catered to the "hip"/urban crown. I swear they are going to make it the Stephen A. Smith Network. Every time I turn on ESPN or go to the website, there he is with his angry mouth open. "Levar Bell, Levar Bell, Levar Bell, Kaepernick, Kaepernick, Kaepernick".

yes exactly! Steven smith. all he talks about is melo and kaepernick. sports media is ridiculous.
it's becoming sports ENTERTAINMENT like WWE. "What did kaepernick say? is he going to cut his hair, or is he going to stick to his cause? What did melo say about phil Jackson?!"
People don't care about the game anymore, so they are making their shows all about the drama surrounding the game. I totally agree with you, it's annoying the hell out of me too.

You know how they say all politics are local? Well all sports are local as well. Fans in most cities don't care about the same 5 teams that national shows only talk about. I mean, I don't see why anyone even in New York gives two shits about Carmelo, so why would anyone else? Kaepernick is an issue for people who don't know anything about any other issues. Can he play or not? Do whatever you want during the national anthem. Whatever. Is there one person here who watches ESPN for anything other than a live game?

I feel bad for baseball. It is literally NEVER discussed. I hear a lot about the NBA, a lot about the NFL....hell the Big 3 is getting talked about more > Baseball.

Yep, way too much. FS1 is just as bad as ESPN. Cowherd, Sharp, Bayless, all of them. The NBA finals ended almost 2 months ago. The NFL is less than 1 month away. Lets hear football talk.
I understand Talking NBA trade deals, but lets keep it at that.

Go on any type of "talk show" Undisputed, His and hers, First Take, Around the Horn, etc. They "literally" never discuss baseball. The last time I recall undisputed discussing it was about the fn home run derby. Sure, ESPN has highlights etc, but Im talking about the shows that discuss a multiple range of topics.

Looked at ESPN's website. Their top stories...
Brooklyn Nets to play two games in Mexico City (Bet Mexico is giddy over that) Stephen A. Smith sits down with Floyd Mayweather. (Did "A" interview McGregor?)
