Just found out about this in a email from DIRECTTV NOW. Premieres Aug 9th on the Audience channel.
I am really looking forward to this series. The book is one of King fans most respected novels. It is directed by Game of Thrones director Jack Bender and adapted for television by David E Kelly.
So many mini-series based on King's books are poorly done. I really hope AT&T pulls this one off.

The audience channel? Never heard of it but I will stream it on my magic box using kodi if it gets good reviews. I liked the books. Several of King's most recent books are more of an attempt by him to write crime novels than horror. The Mr Mercedes trilogy fits into that although it definitely has horror elements.

Great episode last night. Finally a King series worth watching.
Right now it has a rating of 9.2 on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes has it with a 100% Audience score.

What did you think of the pilot? It was better than The Mist pilot at least. Also the horny neighbor isn't in the book so I wonder if they will change other parts of the plot as well. I'll see how it goes but the pilot wasn't bad. |

With today's events in Barcelona it make this show sadder, more plausible, more real. I hope they somehow address that prior to the opening of EP 3.

The horny neighbor seems superfluous but she is likable so I don't mind. I do wonder if that means the plot will change though. I don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't read the book although it seems like you have. It does suck when vicious hate filled psychopaths in the real world have to intrude upon something as simple as just enjoying a TV show. Of course our watching a show is insignificant in comparison to what the victims and their families have suffered in Spain but it still pisses me off. |
