39.3 degrees Celsius (102.7 F), the hottest day in the Netherlands since records began in 1706. Even crazier, tomorrow might be even more extreme. It's like I'm living in the South of France all of a sudden. Especially the last 2 years have been very crazy.

Now 40.7 degrees Celsius (105.3 F), the heat record only lasted 1 day. The most intense temperature and heat wave in the country's history. And records are being broken everywhere: Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, the UK. I never thought I'd see 40 degrees in the Netherlands, at least not in the next 20 years or so.
