Also a favorite of mine. I hated that finale only because John and Root were dead and I knew the show was never coming back.

Also a favorite of mine. I hated that finale only because John and Root were dead and I knew the show was never coming back. The POI finale was structured so the series could have come back in a different form. But since CBS has decided to air only shows they own, regardless of quality (e.g., Hawaii Five-0), then yes, POI is not coming back.

I have loved Jim Caviezel ever since Frequency and Amy Acker as Root is one of my favorite characters of all-time. I know the writing was way above par, but it would be hard. When Criminal Minds lost Emily, then Derek and Hotch I couldn't watch anymore. It wasn't the same for me.

That goes double if the POI spinoff included Bear.

I'm surprised only one person mentioned M*A*S*H, since it still holds the record for most viewed show. Breaking Bad Cheers Mary Tyler Moore Newhart, (loved that he woke up with his TV wife from his 1st show)!
Worst Finale: L O S T

I am usually pretty happy with most finales. My favorite will always be NYPD Blue. The worse-just watched it-Saving Hope-wayyyy tooo sad.

The best is The Shield, imo. Also pretty good:
The Wire Mad Men Sopranos Breaking Bad Community Justified Futurama
Dexter is the worst.

I am shocked a few of you listed The Sopranos as one of the most satisfying. That is notoriously not satisfying in any way. The ending sucked for an otherwise great show. Six Feet Under and The Shield are seriously the two best series finales ever made and nothing else comes close.

Forgot Hell on Wheels.
I keep debating whether to include Mad Men because the finale itself was nothing special, but the final season was phenomenal.
I better leave it off.

Sons of Anarchy. Best way to end a series.

I thought my cable provider had a glitch at the end of Sopranos. I cursed at my TV. Then, I realized that it was suppose to end like that.....and I cursed at my TV some more.
