He's become so desperate that he's now touting a list of 50 superhero movies that ranks among the top ten, many of the films that he says are terrible ... and the movie that he thinks is one of the best superhero movies ever, doesn't even make the list.  It's alway fun to watch someone punch themselves in the face. DC fanboy is particularly adept at it. |

Let's get real. It is not. I enjoyed Wonder Woman, but it would be middle of the pack in the MCU. Winter Soldier and Dark Knight are easily better and cannot even be debated, but then you have others like Iron Man, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc. I actually prefer SM Homecoming, but I can see an argument either way. There is NO CHANCE it wins best picture.

Watchmen for that matter...and even X-Men - Apocalypse for it has many iconic secnes: the intro including the four horsemen, the Auschwitz-scene, the Beethoven-scene (no more stones...) and the Quicksilver-scene...the speed-run of Wolverine.
The music when Jean Grey reveals her true powers...all top notch.

I've been saying for a long time that WW won't WIN the Best Picture Oscar because the Academy probably isn't ready yet to award Best Picture to a comic-book movie. But WW does have a good chance of being nominated for a Best Picture Oscar because: 1. After The Dark Knight was snubbed for a Best Picture nomination in the 2008 award year, the Academy increased the maximum number of nominations for Best Picture from 5 to 10 starting with the 2009 award year. If it were still only 5 nominations, then WW would have no chance of a Best Picture Oscar nomination. But with a maximum of 10 nominations, WW has a good chance for a Best Picture Oscar nomination. 2. The Academy nominated 10 movies for Best Picture in the 2009 and 2010 award years but has only nominated 8 or 9 movies for Best Picture in every year since then. So the Academy nominates only 8 or 9 movies this year, then they still have an open slot to nominate WW without having to remove another worthy nominee. |
