I already follow Panini on Twitter. Was it that flu with the intense throat pain, the caugh from hell and the very heavy nose as main symptoms Doc?

...Fleer produced some quirky sports cards...(1984) Jay Johnston wearing an umbrella cap, and a Braves second baseman (I forget his name) with a boa constrictor wrapped around his neck...and of course, a favorite, Billy Ripken's 1989 Fleer card with the words "f-ck face" in marker on the butt end of his bat...this drove parents crazy and the card had to be withdrawn and reprinted...I was lucky enough to come away with an original. The story goes that Billy was the victim of older brother Cal's practical joke.

...YIKES...!!! I am a card collecting addict...I have about 25,000 of them, sports and non-sports alike. I only wish I had a copy of the original Panini Wayne Gretzky rookie card...!!! :-(

...I ended my sports collecting in the mid 1990's when things got out of hand. For example, dealers started charging a premium for unopened packs because there might be an unproven high draft pick rookie card inside. This ridiculous attitude to collecting drove me out for good.
I will occasionally purchase a pack of Topps cards but my original passion for collecting is gone.
Non-sports, on the other hand....

yeah, but who has never collected cards as a kid ? i ended religiously collecting cards around 2000 when teams were allowed to change their squads in the middle of the season, it became ridiculous to have a guy who plays for 2 teams (even 3) during the same season www.youtube.com/watch?v=AITfhwrH-Ic

...my collection is massive. I have started giving iconic player cards away to a certain grand nephew who is 11 years old. I always inform him that the card should always remain in the plastic card holder provided and my nephew (his pop) makes sure that this is the case. Among many others, I have a Mantle '52 rookie, and a Jordan rookie from '85/'86 Fleer. Also a hand signed Sadaharu Oh cabinet card from Japan in both English and Japanese script...

...it is too bad that the "vultures" permeating a child's hobby took it to extremes and made it a miasma of greed.
The card manufactures are also to blame for their sales practices and advertisements...
My card collection is something that started in the 1950's with me purchasing .01 cent packs with a large slab of bubble gum. How I long for those good ol' days....!!!!!!

...I may have mentioned this, but I own a complete set of 1994 Upper Deck World Cup cards featuring all of the teams and their best players. Of all people, former baseball great Reggie Jackson was the honorary captain and I also have the special insert card issued with that set depicting him holding the "World Cup.".
