In fairness, that's largely because Trump has been an embarrassment to America. Which policies by Trump specifically, embarrassed the US on the World stage? Oh, it's not just his policies. His general demeanour, stupidity and utter dishonesty contribute mightily. But as policies go, largely the wall, pulling out of the Paris agreement, the transgender military thing, "Trumpcare", etc.

Guantanemo bay?

...Stupidity. Who woulda thunk it? I don't know who is worse... The retarded protesters... or the retarded protesters who showed up to retardedly protest the retarded protesters. Honestly, both sides need to just calm down. Abraham Lincoln owned slaves. Why aren't they taking down his statues?

The rest of it is non-applicable to non-citizens of the US, so embarrassment on the world stage isn't a factor and never was.

tpfkar Honestly, both sides need to just calm down. Abraham Lincoln owned slaves. Why aren't they taking down his statues? Abraham Lincoln doesn't have statues because of his efforts to preserve slavery.

That's nice and all, but since you've demonstrated that you think planets can fall over without the people living on them noticing, your opinion on such things really doesn't carry a whole lot of weight. It's amusing that you think the rest of the world doesn't pay attention to what goes on in the US, or make judgments based upon it. Really it just highlights how utterly, completely in the dark you are about... well, anything really.

tpfkar Abraham Lincoln doesn't have statues because of his efforts to preserve slavery. No, but he wasn't against it. 1) He in fact was against it. 2) Regardless, putting up statues for accomplishments other than supporting slavery is very different from putting up statues for supporting/fighting wars to support slavery. It's not a "both sides" thing. on many sides

Honestly, both sides need to just calm down. Abraham Lincoln owned slaves. Why aren't they taking down his statues? There is not a single shred of evidence that Lincoln ever owned slaves. Mary Todd Lincoln's family were slave owners but that does not make Abraham Lincoln a slave owner. Your post is nothing but misinformation and Nazi sympathizing. No, that ridiculous book by Magness and Page from six or seven years ago does not count as evidence. It's not even a scholarly work. It's nonsense dreamed up by two closet racists.

Abraham Lincoln did not own slaves unless there's some kind of verification of this.
His wife, Mary Todd, was the daughter of a slave owner, but she didn't take them with her.
In any event, I think there is a misconception that someone being a part of a culture where slavery is the norm is the same thing as holding onto a culture where slavery is the norm when it was clearly dying out as a norm.

I read somewhere that he was a slave owner. The fact that he wasn't doesn't change the fact that the war wasn't fought over slavery. But still, my mistake.

It was definitely fought over slavery although I will grant someone talking semantics about it being a states rights issue regarding the right to retain slaves.
