How do you figure. I regard him as the greatest basketball player of All-Time. Wasn't he just declared by some popular poll as the greatest black athlete of All-Time too? Not sure if I agree with that - but in my eyes is #1 as far as hoops (of course I never saw Wilt)

Johnny Manziel. Tim Tebow. Agreed. I do root from them both though to this day - both for different reasons.

If being bored is the definition then soccer players get my vote for most overrated.

It's actually a great game to play... loved it at school, that said though, I can't imagine I would have enjoyed it as much if I was playing people who were actually good at it. Tried to get into watching it during the Jordan era, but just couldn't.

I think I played soccer like 99% of American kids growing up - I just never gravitated towards it on TV. Just find it very dull and boring. We all have different tastes and interests. Hear so much about a 'Rinaldo' and previously Beckham. I don't get it - but again - to each their own - we all have different tastes.

I do regard him as one of the greatest - but what if he did fight in an era of a Hagler, Hearns, Leonard, Duran - correct me if I'm wrong - before my time; however didn't these guys bounce around from weight class to weight class too? i.e. welterweight to middleweight? So it would have been possible for Money to come across their paths?

Even on the rare occasions I watch some golf at a friends house they move the camera's to show long putts being made and other excellent shots. Soccer is mainly constant running and flopping. I just don't get how that excites certain people to the point of violence.

Interesting. Please go into detail. Not a soccer fan so maybe you can fill me in. I'm assuming one judges a soccer players greatest just as one in another sport - being a leader, coming thru in the clutch, as well as goals/assists. Has he disappointed in every area of the game?

Maybe because I sucked at it - so I'd rather spend my time going to the batting cages or hitting a heavy bag. I've bartended at Country Clubs and was just astounded by the the clientele - grown old men in bad clothes concerned about a 'Ricky' and 'Lefty' as if their son was dying of cancer - I was 'written up' and spoken too more than once on a Saturday or Sunday for having college football or pro football on the TV as opposed to Golf. You'd then watch this balding overweight fat guy in hideous ridiculous flamingo pink polo attire who just cried to my GM that the 'Buick Open' wasn't on - shove beer nuts down his mouth as he's watching somebody putt on the TV as if the fate of mankind rests on him missing it or making it.

So it would have been possible for Money to come across their paths? I dunno, his resume is pretty good, I guess the thing that will always count against him when it comes to nostalgia, is he wasn't really in any wars like those guys were, so if you haven't got a great catalogue of back fights for people to look back on then you might get overlooked a bit. Maybe you could say he was just too good, or maybe you could say that maybe he just caught fighters at the right time. Well that debate I'm sure will rage on for years. Probably in 10 or so years people will become a bit more objective about where he stands, but it is so hard to compare guys from different eras. I think all those guys were naturally bigger in weight than Floyd, but as you say they did fight at multiple weights so they could have theoretically met except for Hagler who was always middleweight bit like GGG, Floyd never quite got up to that weight.

Tony Mandarich Todd Van Poppel Todd Marinovich Gregg Jefferies JaMarcus Russell Freddy Adu interesting list. mandarich - offensive lineman correct? van poppel - pitcher for the As? jefferies - i remember he was on the Phils for a bit (mets too correct?) - seemed like a mean spirited S.O.B - i remember he was decent but i guess he never lived up to expectations - had a reputation for being a dick russell - feel for the guy - substance / weight issues adu - yeah - he actually played for Philly's soccer team - kid was supposed to be a phenom at like 14 sucks when some of these guys don't live up to expectations after being drafted - was van poppel just a complete bust or did he have a respectable career?

Consensus #1 pick but he wanted a King's Ransom. The Braves had the #1 overall, passed on TVP and took a signable HS SS, Larry Jones, aka Chipper. Mandarich was the greatest OL coming out of Michigan State. But he couldn't juice in the NFL. Next three picks, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, Deion Sanders. Jefferies had a respectable career but he was bred from the cradle to be a HOF player. Adu was called "The Next Pele" at age 14. Who the hell could live up to shit like that? JaMarcus was a reach. Never was that good, even at LSU
