Yeah, I would say Andy Gray and Richard Keys were more integral to Sky than Lineker is to BBC, and Sky moved on after they threw the pair of them under the bus. So yes, I don't mind the guy, but you're right, he is overpaid.

Took him about ten years to become comfortable in his own skin on TV.
It wasn't worth the wait.

He's personal and popular and good at his job. There's been rumours for years that there is some real dirt on him with regards to his personal life but luck and the odd super injunction have saved him. It's all personal taste though isn't it? I liked Andy Townesend for example but have never met anyone else who does.

His brother runs a chain of "lad's/gamgsta pubs" in southern Spain and is probably worth more than Gary. He is also rumoured to be a bit dodgy.

Had a few drinks at Linekers in Tenerife a few times circa 2000, not anything special, it's okay, but it was the first time I realised that people in other countries get more Premier League football than we do. Crazy.
