I'm actually really curious how big Japan will be for it, but it could easily get around 20 mil by itself, and the film still has some time left to grow a big elsewhere.

Well actually it surpassed $700 million this weekend because it opened in Japan.
It had a good opening in Japan. Comparable to The Amazing Spider-man which ended with $40 million there.
If Homecoming makes a similar amount it'd be the second highest grossing MCU movie in Japan after The Avengers.

So I'm assuming that means it's at 702 without Japan unless their site is weird.

The individual grosses per country will get updated within the week sometime. That's why all their grosses are still as of 8/6.

It should outgross both TASM films by the end of its run. Fingers cross it reaches $800 million.

Yeah, you're right. It's starting to lose steam. It's a shame too, because it's the best Spider-Man movie since Spider-Man 2. I can see why some people have Spider-Man fatigue since it was the 6th Spider-Man in 15 years.

Don't forget when the early films came out, not only was it new, but there was also no competition. It was the biggest superhero film of the year so anybody remotely interested had to see it. There are 5 other big time comic films out this year, and that absolutely has an effect on all of them. All the casual fans saw the originals, but now a lot of them will pick and choose. They won't see them all and that makes a difference.

Homecoming isn't performing "bad" by any stretch of the imagination. It's just going to have to work hard to impress. I think his presence in Infinity War and Avengers 4 will be huge boosters for him and whatever MCU Spider-Man 2's called will be a bigger hit.

They making a movie for every year that Peter is in high school so Homecoming 2 will be more of the same crap and another flop like SMH. The main plot will be Peter trying to decide whether or not to ask Michelle "Mary Jane" Watson to the valentine's day dance and the subplot will be Flash Thompson still trying to act like a bully.
