The above are all 1980s cereals created to cash-in on a TV series, video game, film, or such. Not a complete list I presume.
I wasn't alive then, and all of these were short-lived, so I can't vote. However, as someone into retro and such, I thought it might be a fun question.

Well, I'd never heard of any of these, but I would have liked Batman Cereal.

I think the ghosts were marshmallows! I voted smurfberry crunch. My brother was born in '8o so he was the prime market for all of these and like the average 8o's household, we had most of not all of them. I really don't remember many but I do remember ALL had prizes in them...unlike cereal today.

Somewhere I read that the cereal companies really started going wild with cereal ads because they figured out two things:
1. Children were memorizing television jingles. They would see all sorts of television shows and cartoons, but it was the television commercials that caught their eyes (and they memorized the little songs that came with them).
2. When women shopped with children, it was the children who would insist on picking the cereals.
Big dollar signs flashed in corporate eyes!!
They marketed to little kids and it was worth a bundle.

I realized I didn't remember seeing toys being advertised on my nieces cereal boxes when they visited and wondered if I just hadn't noticed. Are there no longer any toys or prizes in kids cereals? That kind of sucks but they do have unlimited cartoons available 24/7 so I guess it's a fair trade off.
