They don't speak for everyone either. You won't hear anyone disagree with them. I disagree with them.

You won't hear anyone disagree with them. I disagree with them. So you absolutely loved and adored Suicide Squad and felt the film wasn't lacking in any way, shape, or form?

And how discerning are these opinions? if you look within the film fanbase the critiques are harsher, but if you look at the general public they're less so.....I mean why else do the transformer films keep making so much money, despite the majority of film fans rejecting them at every turn?

SS was not as well-received by action film chunkers as Transformers was nor did it make as much as most of them.

That tells me nothing. What did you disagree with and from what reviews? Why are you turning this into my opinion of the movie? I enjoyed the movie. That's my personal opinion. I don't care about the reviews good or bad. This thread was about the movie winning an Oscar and what merit that has. I've made my point that it might not matter to you but it matters in the industry. The oscars are meaningless outside the industry regardless of the movie. Pluto Nash could have won an Oscar for costume design. It wouldn't change the movie, but it would change perception within the industry.

It's a natural thing to do, even if it did get off-topic. If Pluto Nash had won an Oscar, it would change nothing. The film still flopped and it would still be a blight on Eddie Murphy's career. There would be no sequel because they'd have to be nuts to try that.

Yeah, but they're approaching with the exact OPPOSITE mindset as before, just as I said they'd have to. Had the first film been a winner in China, they'd probably just make another hot mess of a film.

You have some tastes in film we agree on weirdraptor. However, why are you so obsessed with this DC/MCU rivalry? I think you have more potential than that as an objective movie goer and discussion board member. This isn't something to take personally. There are people who hate my tastes in film and my favorite actors etc... But that is their choice. This thread just looks like an attempt to discredit the DCEU for it's Oscar. It comes off as a sore/hurt MCU fanatic who is mad the DCEU won an Oscar and the MCU hasn't, so you feel the need to get confirmation of your feelings from other randos on the internet to fill this need you have. It isn't worth it. There is so much more to film than this silly CBM rivalry.

It's more because the Toxic DC Fans seem to think this Oscar means anything and are trying to rub it in the MCU's face, to make up for the lack of critical success in their films.
