I have used this program for several years and I like it. I renewed my subscription not long ago and I have had no problems but all of a sudden it now recognizes my free YouTube Downloader as malware and quarantines it automatically. I have had a couple of virus programs rexognize the YouTube Downloader as possible malware but they give me the option to disregard this warning or delete/quarantine the program. HitmanPro does not give me this option. I can take it out of quarantine and use the program but the next day it just quarantines it again.
How do I stop this? How can I opt not to have it quarantined when I scan?

How do I stop this? How can I opt not to have it quarantined when I scan? First, I would run YouTube Downloader through a Jotti scan just to make sure HitmanPro is reporting a false positive: Jotti's malware scanSome anti-malware programs have an "ignore list" option that you can use to prevent false positives. I would look to see if HitmanPro offers this option and add YouTube Downloader to the list.

alpha128 thank you for your response. I have looked at all of the program's options and it does not have an ignore file function. The only recourse it offers is to restore the program after it has been quarantined. I do not have a problem with doing this except that after a couple of times restoring the program it no longer works. When I try to download a video/music I get a pop-up telling me that the pathway has been moved or corrupted. So I have to go to control panel, delete the program and re-install it. So it just becomes a vicious circle of quarantine, restore, no pathway, delete program, re-install over and over again.
My Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebites and AdAware all ignore the program. My UnhackMeNow program gives me a possibly malicious results but it lets me decide what I want to do.
I did the Jotti scan you recommended and of the 18 other scans nothing malicious was found so HitmanPro is giving a false positive.
I do not think contacting HitmanPro would do any good because if they offered an ignore function it would already be included in the program and there is no such option.
I guess I will have to keep running around in the vicious circle I mentioned above. I do not know what else to do.

However, according to this source, you can: open HMPA > go to Exploit mitigation > applications > exclude (far right of the panel) > browse and add the executable
