"The Long And Winding Road" How in the hell can you put that in your top ten favorite Beatle songs? That song is awful. Even the guy who wrote it - Paul - actually said terrible things about it. He absolutely hated the horrendous strings laid over it. Man, it is a terrible song. And "Rain" is the best song on your list. The Beatles at that time were at their best. Pre-Sgt. Peppers (when they went too far in the studio), the boys still concentrated on their guitars. Just look at these songs they recorded that week: "Rain" "Paperback Writer" "Doctor Robert" "And Your Bird Can Sing" "Taxman" That was just in one week! All guitar driven songs. Man, they were at their peak. |
