Another low scoring Celtic game coming up?  Other biggy........Napoli 2 - 0 Nice, Nice losing it down to 9 men and Ballotelli wasn't even around tonight.  .............. og Celtic almost concede straight away Brown gets his yellow Sinclair!! Sinclair again! Forrest!  Not Griffiths!!  Really though, Celtic(after winning their league) shouldn't have to play 6 games to get into the group stages. UEFA sort it out for Celtic. |

This was a well deserved compliment to Rodgers and his team. Astana gave us a hard game last season but this year we are a confident assured side, untroubled by the nerves that usually lead to our European disasters. Griffiths scared the Astana defence every time he had the ball and it was good to see Sinclair back to his best. His goals are an essential part of the team"s success. New Bhoy Ncham was the star and looks a formidable prospect.
There will be a few teams who will hope to avoid Celtic in the group stages.

I didn't watch this, but I thought this was quite an impressive result for Celtic. I later read that they only had 3 shots on target - was the match obviously fixed?

Put your worry beads away, Brendan. Sinclair has destroyed any irrational fears you may have had by coming good on '34. 1-6 Celtic away goal. A fine strike too.

Not a great 45 minutes from Celtic but it didn't have to be. They look as though they're passing the time for 90 minutes. Little urgency for the most part in their build-up play with the back four playing tiki-taki for the most part. McGregor not involved as much as we would like and Tierney not having one of his best game. But with a 6-1 lead and an away goal who can complain.
