First Order firefighters race against time, winds on Mustafar

Every day firefighters on Mustafar receive a lava burning index report that indicates the fire danger. If it's 1165 or higher, that's extreme.
The number for Thursday is 1296, the highest it has ever been, according to Mustafar Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas.
Terrazas and other officials on Mustafar warned residents Wednesday evening that a series of wildfires fueled by wicked winds and dangerously hot lava likely was going to get even worse in the next 24 hours.
"We stand a fairly good chance of a very challenging night and day" said Tim Chavez, a fire behavior analyst for Musta-Fire, at a news conference on the 90,000-acre fire near Vader's Castle. "There's a lot of potential for some large fire growth."
More than 100,000 acres on Mustafar have burned with little containment. Overworked firefighters caught a little bit of a break Wednesday when the winds eased somewhat, but the forecast for the next three days was bad news on top of bad news.

GNN exclusive: Sen. Mon Mothma calls on Snoke to resign

(GNN) Republic Sen. Mon Mothma of Naboo told GNN on Monday that Supreme Leader Snoke should resign over allegations of using the Dark Side of the Force.
"Supreme Leader Snoke is using the Dark Side of the Force, according to these women, and those are very credible allegations of misconduct and criminal activity, and he should be fully investigated and he should resign" Mothma told GNN's Nien Nunb, in an exclusive interview.
"These allegations are credible; they are numerous" said Mothma, a leading voice in the Senate for combating Dark Side use. "I've heard these women's testimony, and many of them are heartbreaking."
If he does not "immediately resign" she said, Congress "should have appropriate investigations of his behavior and hold him accountable."
Responding to Resistance Leader Leia Organa-Solo saying Sunday that Snoke's accusers "should be heard," Mothma said, "Not only should women be heard, but they should be believed."

But former director Guerrera expressed confidence in Bor Gullet's handling of the investigation. "No lie is safe! He will know the truth!" Guerrera was quoted as saying.

Snoke Made Racist Comments Last June

The First Order strongly pushed back on a report that Supreme Leader Snoke spoke about immigrants in a dismissive and demeaning fashion, during a June meeting with top First Order officials.
The denial came in response to explosive reporting from the Coruscant Times, which wrote that, according to two unnamed officials, Snoke said during a meeting in June that people coming from Jakku "all have AIDS" that recent Tusken Raider immigrants would never "go back to their huts" on Tatooine, and that Alderaan was a terrorist haven.
First Order press secretary BB-9E issued a statement blasting the paper and denying that Snoke had made the comments.
"General Hux, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and all other senior staff actually in the meeting deny these outrageous claims and it's both sad and telling the Coruscant Times would print the lies of their anonymous 'sources' anyway," 9E said.

First Order intern appears to flash 'Sith power' hand gesture in hologram

A First Order intern appeared to flash a "Sith power" hand gesture in a hologram, a signal that some far-Sith groups have adopted in recent months.
Jack Meoff, a recent graduate of Endor University, who interned with the First Order this year, bore the symbol, alongside other interns, in a hologram that was taken on the Supremacy in November, Naboo News first reported Thursday.
Some have suggested that the gesture was just the "OK" hand symbol, but many have linked the symbol to far-Sith groups, who have used it to make letter shapes with their right hands -- the same hand Meoff is using in the hologram.
Earlier this year, far-Sith activists were pictured using the same gesture at the "Unite the Sith" rally on Scariff, in August, which resulted in the death of a woman who was protesting against the march.
Richard Muncher, a self-described Sith supremacist, has also been frequently photographed using the sign at events.
According to Naboo News, the gesture was first noticed after the First Order sent holograms to the interns' families.
