Henry is 34 years old, he's a Brit and he looks like a cross breed between Classic Brosnan (dark hair) Bond and Muscle Craig Bond (body). Look, he's going to do Man of Steel 2 and JL 2. Man of Steel 2 and JL II will all be released by 2022. At that point, Cavill will be 39 years old. Daniel Craig was 38 when he started as 007. Cavill looks younger than Craig did in his 30s, so he can pull off Bond longer. Craig had lots of wrinkles and Cavill still looks like he's in his 20s. Craig's next Bond comes out in 2019. I say, at that point, let Craig retire from 007. He already expressed he isn't interested in doing the role anymore after SPECTRE. They had to pay him GODS money to do the next film. Even if he does 2 more Bonds, it will end in 2022. (Casino 2006, Quantum 2008, Skyfall 2012, SPECTRE 2015, and the new one 2019) So they are set around average 3-4 years apart. No need to reboot, just do the next adventure (ala Roger Moore after Sean Connery and Lasenby). It's the perfect time to transition Cavill after doing Superman. At that point, they will probably do a Flashpoint and reboot the DCEU anyway with younger actors (That's how they will recast some of the roles eg. Batman and Superman). Cavill looks perfect for the role. If you don't think he's charismatic, go watch "The Tudors"... It's not his fault he was given a more depressed and inverted Superman who analyses everything. That is the script and director he was given. Don't judge him based on that. I say it's too perfect to pass up. He would be the perfect modern Bond, he's in good shape like Craig, but looks like a traditional Bond face.

Wow, he is an excellent candidate. Wouldn't have thought of him, but when you mention it, he's got all the right stuff.
I don't know about anyone else, but I think gritty Bond has run its course. I like Craig in the role, but he's not really written to have that suave thing that is 007. I dig his physical prowess and that he's a pretty imposing Bond, but I miss some of the cavalier swaggering of previous Bonds. Brosnan did this well I thought.
For me, Connery is Bond, and if I had to sum him up along with the other Bonds, he is a pretty even split between Brosnan and Craig. Cool, but is someone you look at and immediately know could handle himself in a fight. I think Henry Cavill could pull that off excellently.
I don't really like Ben Affleck as an actor, but the irony of him playing the main villain would be a chuckle.
...and FFS get Michael Caine in there somewhere! In another time, I think he would have made a terrific Bond.

I could see that. He's not a bad actor when they give him something to do (unlike his role as Superman). The Man From UNCLE was a fun flick.

Henry Cavill? They could come up with worse choices, and he does have some pluses that would work to make him ideal.
However, he's just not that kind of charismatic. He doesn't put on the charm. Unfortunately he's a bit dull. I like him okay, I had and still have very high hopes from him as Superman, but Bond needs someone the ladies want to fuck and the guys want to hang out with. I'm not really sure he's exhibited either just yet. He just kind've reads the lines. No emoting.
Then again maybe he just hasn't had the right director pull a performance out of him. God knows its not Zack Snyder. But maybe a Sam Mendes, a Martin Campbell, a Michael Apted [?] (previous Bond directors)

I don't think he has the right look. ha ha You're funny.
That WAS a joke right?
Oh wait, you're serious. You mean British, dark haired, chiseled features, white, athletic build, doesn't fit "the look". I just described both Bond and Cavill. How does he not fit the look?

His face is too boyish. Perfect for Superman but not a dashing rogue who's been around the block like James Bond. Would you cast any of the previous Bond's to play Superman?

Gives too much of a Roger Moore vibe for my taste..Can we just clone Timothy Dalton, hyper age him to around 35 and give him the appropriate shot his progenitor should have gotten ?... We can do that now, correct ?...

A young Sean Connery at a certain point in his career, definitely a young Pierce Brosnan, both if they could've tamed their accents. Cavill is young, but obviously if they were to cast him it would be to do a soft re-boot with a younger version of Bond. He was Bond-ish in The Man from Uncle. The more I think of it the more I'm warming to the idea actually.

Why? So he can frown and mope his way around another franchise that's supposed to be fun?

OK, but personally, I could never see either one of them ever playing superman.

Trouble is, Men from UNCLE was a Bond-style flick, and he was pretty bad in that. It's not promising.

And incidentally, he directed Henry Cavill in The Man from UNCLE.

I thought he was quite good in The Man from UNCLE. another candidate could be Dan Stevens . After Beauty & the Beast , it seems like Hollywood is really pushing him . But I do like the idea of Cavill as Bond. he certainly has the right look for it

Why? So he can frown and mope his way around another franchise that's supposed to be fun? It wasn't his call on the tone of Superman. It also won't be his call on the tone of 007 if he somehow lands the part.
