I sometimes forget which films he has directed. Then I check his filmography and realize I am a fan. These are the ones I like. The Year of Living Dangerously Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World Witness Dead Poets Society Gallipoli The Last Wave The Truman Show The Way Back Picnic at Hanging Rock

Master & Commander is a near masterpiece. Otherwise I don't know much about him. Truman Show is good, I wouldn't say great.

Personally I wish they would have went with Andrew Niccol to direct The Truman Show instead of Peter Weir (I heard Niccol was supposed to do it but they did not want to take a chance on a rookie director etc) as I tend to like Niccol's general style more.
I think it would have been a better movie if Niccol directed it but I don't expect many to agree given it's solid rep already. but as is... I think it's not worth re-watching where as if Niccol directed it I would not be surprised if it was worth re-watching from time to time (but maybe not, I guess ill never know). either way, even if Niccol did direct it I doubt I would like it more than Niccol's... Lord of War (2005)/Gattaca (1997)/S1m0ne (2002) (and possibly some others to). p.s. I would imagine Niccol's most known/popular movies are Gattaca/Lord of War. but I think S1m0ne is one of the most underrated movies on IMDb. in fact, S1m0ne (along with A Man Apart (2003)) is THE lowest rated movie on IMDb I score a solid 8/10 or higher @ a 6.1/10 average.
NOTE: Gattaca is the most plausible Sci-Fi movie according to NASA from a article i have seen online from 2011.
