Maybe they are trying to move more action to other parts of the site? Outside of Politics and the Soapbox, which is killing everything, Sports is right up there with Film General for most posts. Other than Politics and Spirituality (?), Sports usually has the most viewers for the general boards. Maybe all titles for OTs will have to be framed with "sports" like "Sports, What Are You Drinking Right Now, Sports".

Certainly I'm not going to think of going on other boards to see if you guys wrote something about an OT subject.

I'm not overly concerned with off-topic threads, especially in boards that are essentially their own communities.

i always thought the occasional 'OT' post was a nice way of bringing the community together during a lull in the sports season I like them too. Certainly I'm not going to think of going on other boards to see if you guys wrote something about an OT subject. You know all the regs like me - you're a reg - and you know full well when somebody may be 'joking', 'trolling a bit', etc - you take it for what it is - we're all sports fans. But sometimes a lil conversation on outside topics keeps things interesting a bit. I listen to Tom_Rocks get bashed constantly - I've joined in (I wouldn't say bash - just poke fun a little) - but I love the guy - he keeps the board alive like he did the original IMDB - and he never says a bad word about anybody. If you don't like somebody just ignore them. I don't know much about our overseas friends - but here in the States - it's pretty much NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL. And if you're team is out of the race in the MLB right now - it is the 'slllooowww season'.

They're trying to suck life juice from the Sports board and funnel it into the graveyard rooms.

I agree. I like the OT posts. We are all a community. Most of us have been posting together for over a decade.

I see they moved our conversation about Chilean women and serial killers to general discussion and I feel oddly exposed.

Hey - I'm the biggest Horror Dork in the World and Halloween is a little over 2 months away .....sorry - suck the life and graveyard just kind of wanted me to get Van Helsing going - I have no idea why it gets bashed - to me - if you take it for what it was worth - it was a fun popcorn flick

I check out the soapbox sometimes because I notice it's very busy. It's seldom anything but the same 20 or so posters talking about each other and whining that so and so is mean to them. It's very odd. I don't understand people who are unable to make friends in the real world.

I'm not sure but soapbox seems to get a lot if traffic so I thought it was worth checking out. It wasn't. Lots of talk about secret threads and people who got banned and the like concerning other posters.

I always suspect those are not actually women anyway. Well - I always viewed 'Soap' like 'Soap Opera' - like Young and the Restless and General Hospital - so I always thought it pertained to chicks. And I agree - hey - it's like online dating - most of the people you're looking to score with and talking to are gay dudes incognito (*** disclaimer - i have nothing against women or gay people )
