The Minor League Orioles had been one of the best minor league teams in the 20's. Lots of big stars, Lefty Grove the biggest. Max Bishop, Jack Ogden, Jake Beckley, Joe Boley. The team was probably as good as some of the bottom feeders in the majors. In the 30's, the team fell on hard times. Talent wasn't what it was, attendance sucked. Ironically, the 1944 ballpark fire saved the O's and baseball in Bawlmer. The team played in Memorial Stadium, the city rallied around the Birds and they won the IL and the Junior World Series. Baltimore became a prospect for relocation and kept that up until the Browns moved in 1953.

Isn't that dugout a long way from the plate or are some stadiums still configured like that?
