Ben Simmons was selected by The Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. He purchased a pair of sneaks for a kid that lived in Camden at a 'local' mall - now Tri State Area readers - I'm thinking this may be the 'Cherry Hill Mall'. If anybody knows anything about Camden - just like it's 'brother' Chester on the opposite end of the Philly Burbs - it's poverty stricken. link: Simmons Buys Sneaks For Kid That was awhile ago. Simmons recently had a blind kid with ALS come in and signed a pair of shoes for him: link: Simmons Meets ALS Blind Kid
Although I think Simmons screwed up a bit when the kid asked who this was and he was blind and Simmons states, 'Do I look like Ben Simmons' Good stuff from this kid though. He just turned 21 and LeBron wished him a Happy Birthday on Twitter. link: LeBron Wishes His Pupil a Happy 21

Paul O'Neill of the Yankees once hit two home runs in a game for a sick little boy in the hospital. Well, a home run and a triple with an error, but that's practically the same thing.
