Actually I am watching from a parking lot in a city of 300,000 people. Has to be a twice that many in town now. It is buzzing, vendors wherever you look. |

It's grey and overcast in London so we won't see anything methinks. May get a bit darker for a few minutes.

It is. You could have driven down to Beatrice to double the period of totality.

It is. You could have driven down to Beatrice to double the period of totality. When I made hotel reservations in October of last year I tried to get them in Beatrice, but all the hotels were booked. I was lucky to get them in Lincoln and with this traffic there is no way I was going to drive down this morning. |

Yeah, I tried taking pictures of the eclipse at it maximum, 91.4% here, with my regular digital camera, and all I got was a bright ball, not a crescent, in the sky. I didn't know if it would work, but I gave it a shot. |
