Not from me, too many $ for a filter and a camera that will accept that filter. Yeah, I tried taking pictures of the eclipse at it maximum, 91.4% here, with my regular digital camera, and all I got was a bright ball, not a crescent, in the sky. I didn't know if it would work, but I gave it a shot. imm blyinnd....i doonntt know ww what im typpinnnng ..................DOIYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

marsexplorerNice idea for a thread. Watched from my yard. 79% but still the shadows etc changed and things got to be an odd color. Had solar filter film to look through which showed the sky all dark with only the sun and moon showing. It looked rather like a crescent moon. It's about finished now. Was in Nevada and saw the eclipse a couple of years ago. Not as big a deal that one. Total but the moon didn't block as much of the sun because of the relative distance or some other techy talk reason. Good luck with the traffic jams getting away !

It worked for me.

50% zone here, but couldn't see anything. I didn't have any special protection, so I tried taking selfies with the sun behind me. Even at minimum exposure, the sun still appeared as a bright full circle.
Oh well. We are supposed to have a full eclipse here in 2024, so I will be better prepared for that one.

So basically, just mentally combine those two pics, lol. You got it. It was exactly like that with the exception being the horizon was a cityscape for me. What a mob here. I think we will sit by the pool for awhile and wait for things to calm down a little. Maybe drink a few

Its was pretty cool. About a "crescent Sun". My uncle is a welder and he loaned me panes of welding glass. We must have looked like three weirdos (me, the missus and the grandboy) gawking up at the sky with square chunks of glass in front of us. 30% of the Sun is still bright. I thought it would get dimmer. www.greatamericaneclipse.com/april-8-2024/We are dead center for the next one. You all can come and watch from my deck. Don't forget to bring the Jack Daniels.
