It's official. Boston will repeat as the #1 seed this year. Thomas is good, but he's no Irving.Sure, but it wasn't a straight up trade. I don't understand why the C's gave up the Brooklyn pick. Three players and the Brooklyn pick? Cleveland was the desperate team here, make them take the Lakers pick instead of the Brooklyn pick. Worst case scenario you walk away and they have to give away Kyrie to somebody else, either way the C's win the East. The price was too high here. I've always been a member of the "Thanks for the memories IT, now let's see what we can get for him," camp, so in the end I approve of the trade. I just hope giving up that Brooklyn pick doesn't come back to bite us.

Lots of fun facts about this trade. First time two players who averaged 25 ppg+ the previous season have been traded for each other. First time teams that met in the ECF the previous year execute a trade with each other. Irving was the first pick in the 2011 draft, Thomas was the last pick in that draft.

Crowder's D really fell off a cliff last season, not sure if he was never 100% or what. But he's my kind of player, he'll be missed. Overall I think Cleveland got the better of the deal on paper, considering they shouldn't have been in the driver's seat in this trade. Typical Boston sports fan, complaining about getting one of the ten best players in the league in a trade.
