I'm sure it's great. It's not that I have purposely avoided it (or Hush Hush). I just haven't happened upon it without making an effort or found myself in a mood where I go seek it out. I love both Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland, so I'm sure I would like the films. I tell you what, I'll make sure to watch both films this October. Excellent Flynn ! This definitely would make 2 perfect choices for the month of October and even Halloween as well .

Rosemary's Baby (1968)What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)The first two that comes to my mind, and then a whole bunch of classic horror films from the late 30s, 40s and 50s. It is not that I do not want to watch any of them, but there are just so damn many other films (also within other movie genres) that I also would like to see, and I just do not have time to watch them all at once, but hopefully I will one day get to do so, just not right now. I so agree stefancrosscoe . If you're definitely pressed for time on a daily basis . Just as a suggestion here one movie a day or even one a week is better than not getting to see these at all . That's what I used to do in my very busy days too ( and yes I'm definitely a classic film addict here as well ) .

Mill Of The Stone Women (1960) Mill of the Stone Women (1960) This does look like a really good one here and will definitely add this to my watch list now . Thanks so much petrolino for the movie recommendation here . You're welcome, mszanadu. The trouble I've had seeing it is the dvd has long been out of print so it's always been expensive to purchase. The film is often cited as one of the great European gothic horrors of the 1960s and I do enjoy gothic horror very much.

Three that stick out in my mind; Carnival of Souls (1962) Frankenstein meets the Wolf Man (1943) - Aiming to watch this October. The Innocents (1961) Carnival of Souls is most definitely worth it. It adheres more to formalism and realism, though, which you might want to be prepared for when starting to watch it. It has a European vibe, like it was made by Jean Cocteau. I think this is a movie that had a surge of popularity in the mid 2000s. I remember reading an article by Joe Bob Briggs where he was complaining about the appeal of Carnival of Souls being tarnished by people making it better known.

Read Clive Barker's The Hellbound Heart (upon which Hellraiser is based) years back. Most terrifying book I've ever tackled. Don't think I could handle the film.

The Changeling The Beyond Hellraiser These 3 are among my favorite horror movies of all time. In fact The Beyond is my second favorite horror movie after Dawn of the Dead. Planning on watching the first two during my annual Horrorthon starting in a month's time.

Thanks for the recommendations. The only reason why I haven't go around to them yet, there are too many films and too little time.

"Carnival of Souls" does sound like something right up my alley. Looks like there's a couple versions out their of the film.

Just as a suggestion here too - what I do for certain films when I'm not able to get to watch these right away . If I don't yet have a certain film on DVD I either put these on a list for the near future to purchase OR if I do have a certain film on DVD I will put it aside on my living room coffee table to remind myself to watch it very soon but not to let the DVD's get into an out of hand pile situation either ( for me 2 to 4 DVD's maximum ) . That way it's a definite reminder to me to check these films out very soon . Sometimes watching one film an evening or on the weekends will make it easier too ( pacing the movie watching experience is a lot of fun as well ) .

Critics/film historians say that the 1945 film Dead Of Night is a horror classic, but I have yet to see it. Yet I do plan on seeing it someday. Let me second mszanadu's comments and recommend this one as well, Gopher. Very scary both in its text and it subtext, beautifully done...

I've decided that there's no need putting it off till October. I checked out Baby Jane from my local public library yesterday. So far I've watched the first 45 minutes or so. It's good, although, any film starting Bette Davis is a cut above in my opinion. It also has a really good score, which surprised me (though, again, scores by Frank deVol a are usually good. I'll watch the rest tonight.

I got about 15 minutes from the end of Baby Jane when my wife asserted strong interest in watching it from the beginning. Being the good husband I am, I stopped the DVD and started it all over.
It's a good film, I love Bette Davis, and I think she steals the film. She acts rings around Crawford, Heck, even the piano player out acts Crawford in this film.
The music at times does seem to be more dramatic than the film it is accompanying, but considering that the music is excellent music in its own right, it doesn't bother me too much. Thanks for pushing me to watch it finally.

I only just watched Inferno (1980) last week, that scene at the start underwater was great. I guess it's held in high regard with the horror elite, I kept reading about it on message boards.
I haven't seen: Carnival of Souls Martyrs The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari None of The Invisible Man sequels
