One of my favourite shows is a Canadian comedy (don't stop reading) show called Testees. It lasted one season and I love it. 2 friends share a flat and to get by they enrol as test subjects with a drugs company with unpredictable side effects.
It is similar to the UK TV show called Bottom and in fact it takes an idea straight from The Young Ones, an earlier UK show starring the same actors from Bottom!
Another is Siberia which is a fake survival show. It is basically Survivor but it is fiction and set in Siberia. Sadly it was cancelled after the first season but still one of my favourites.

"Stage 7", a one-season-wonder anthology series from 1955 consisting of 25 episodes (which each episode running 25 minutes). The episodes vary considerably in quality (as is the case with any anthology), but there are some very good episodes. Two of my favourites are the drama "End of the Line" and the comedy "The Hayfield".
The copyrights to the series have expired. It can be found on YouTube and such.

Becker starring Ted Danson!
Couldn't recommend it enough! Comedy show, saw some popularity when it first aired but since has been forgotten. It also stars beautiful Shawnee Smith (who now is most known for Saw). It's funny! The cast have great chemistry and it's my favourite show to watch when I'm down. Always lifts my mood! Ted Danson plays a cranky doctor who is always angry about something and always has something new to rant about, but he also has a caring side and is actually very thoughtful about others. Which is always subtly played out. He's very opinionated, and to be fair its very relatable and he does speak the truth. Each character has their own personality and are all lovable. Even bob, who starts off annoying but then you can't help but warm to him. 6 seasons and it's brilliant.
Also side note - I LOVE bottom ! That's my all time fav comedy. I can't breathe watching some episodes haha

The Night Manager Its the best Spy series I've seen and the best Le Carre adaptation. It moves so fast and Hugh Laurie is just incredible charming and funny butvat the same time you know he is not a guy youd mess up with.
Chance especially if you like anything from Hitchcock.

I really enjoyed BBC's "Robin Hood" (2006)
Season 1 and 2. Not so much Season 3. Richard Armitage steals the show.

Probably not that 'lesser known' around these parts but I don't know anyone who's seen it: 'The Leftovers' IMO it's a really original take on what could have been a cheesy idea. Great performances from the cast too.

Space: Above and Beyond was a pretty good show, sadly overlooked given how many years later the reimagined BSG would repeat some of its themes and storylines and be lionised for it. Not as good as BSG, not as hard or as serious, but it deserves more recognition than it gets.

Carnivale (2003-2005) was supposed to be pretty good, I haven't seen it myself but I'd like to. Dark Angel (2001-2003) with Jessica Alba was good, I loved it but they cancelled it on a cliffhanger...

I don't know if I'd recommend it, because people here have such varying tastes, but there's this '90s Canadian kids/young adult show that I really love called Ready or Not. A lot of the young actors on the show also appeared on Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? (all filmed in Canada). Anyway, nobody here is likely going to look at it so I'm not going to waste anymore time writing about it.

I really liked Siberia too. It's a pity there wasn't a second season. One of, if not my all time favourite TV show that I feel deserves to be better known, was Penny Dreadful. It was excellent in every respect, but Showtime pulled the plug in season 3 and so we got a horrible let down of an ending. I'm still fuming over that.

The BBC's Line of Duty, a show about corruption in the police, or 'bent coppers'. Really is a brilliant show with lots of great twists and turns, and some of the best interrogation scenes.
Also agree with whoever said Carnivale. That show really was under-watched and under-appreciated. We were robbed of three wonderful seasons there.

Rectify. I haven't seen the final season yet, but the show was absolutely fantastic.

It was huge in the U.K., but I had to stumble upon The I.T. Crowd by accident. I roared through all the episodes on Netflix last year, one of the greatest sitcoms ever. Silly but it makes me laugh.

From The Earth to the Moon (1998), this was from the people behind Apollo 13 it depicts most of the Apollo missions during the 60's & 70's - it won the Golden Globe for best mini-series but is all but forgotten now.

Being Erica--another Canadian TV series that ran from 2009 to 2011, telling the story of a young woman who is granted the power to go back in time throughout her own life and given the chance to correct past mistakes. She's aided by a therapist, 'Dr. Tom', who acts a sort of guide but his advice is usually pretty inscrutable, at least initially. Well written, and co-starred the always worthwhile Michael Riley as Tom; it was somewhat similar in premise to the American TV series Quantum Leap, but without the emphasis on the SF aspects or the notion of body-switching.

I saw "Being Erica" during its original run. I agree, it was a fun show. There are many Canadian TV shows that I've enjoyed. "Da Vinci's Inquest": Nothing to do with Leonardo. Dominic da Vinci was the name of the Vancouver coroner in this long-running cop show. "Arctic Air": the adventures (and more often than not misadventures) of the owners and pilots of an airline serving tiny northern communities out of their base in Yellowknife "Republic of Doyle": the adventures of a private detective in St. John's, Newfoundland. At the beginning it was pretty entertaining; later seasons, not so much. There are also many great French-language shows from Quebec: "Un Gars Une Fille": hugely successful, remade in a dozen different countries. Comedy series about a couple, but with short vignettes instead of episode-long stories. "Les Bougons": comedy about a family of crooks who will do anything to make money as long as it doesn't involve an honest paycheck. A bit like "Shameless" I suppose (though I've never watched "Shameless"). "Mauvais Karma": comedy about three women who were best friends in college 15 or 20 years earlier but then lost touch, only to reunite under complicated circumstances. "19-2": Cop show "Unitรฉ 9": Drama set in a women's prison "Faits Divers": another cop show "Lรขcher Prise": comedy about a career woman who has a burnout.

I was thinking of mentioning 'Da Vinci's Inquest'. I'll add 'An American in Canada' (2002โ4) < IMDb main page.
'An American in Canada' (2002โ4) < IMDb review page.
'An American in Canada' (2002โ4) < Wiki.
