I don't normally start new threads either, behaving as you do. I was just wondering.

Don't know, don't care, didn't read anything about it. Just asking a question: where is everybody?

Don`t know
Its strange in away that his is not more active considering that the Buffy board on IMDB was very active for a show that had been off the air for so many years.

And especially with what appeared to be renewed interest on the 20th anniversary.

A damn terrible time for IMDB to shut down its message boards. I'm in the middle of my rewatch, and no one to share it with. A tear.

I just got done watching Primeval and Blind Date. I'm alternating between Buffy and Angel, just as how they originally aired on WB (good times).
While I've never hated season 4, I can see why some people were taken so aback by it. There's almost no Joyce. The Bronze isn't featured as heavily as it used to be. It seems so much brighter. It's all a big contrast to seasons 1-3.
That being said, I'm still a fan of it since it does change so many things. I like the changes to the cast. The slow introduction into the scoobies of Tara, Spike, and Anya is another of the show's strengths. I even like Riley. I know a lot of fans don't, but I'll usually defend him.
And as for season 1 of Angel, it's a joy watching it when it was just a monster of the week, before all the mythology hits the cast and audience. It's not the show's greatest season, but there's something to be said about the team just focusing on helping the hopeless. And who doesn't love Doyle? I still cry at the end of "Hero."

I just got done watching Primeval and Blind Date. Those episodes are great. I like Adam, and Blind Date is one of those episodes in which Wolfram and Hart is at its most threatening. I also like the scenes with Lindsey and Holland.

I don't know. I was a member on the old 'Buffy' boards and they were very active compared to this and I have looked around on some other sites and I think most of the members might have moved over to Facebook or Twitter. The superhero TV show boards used to be really active too but there is hardly anybody writing about them on here either. This has become more like the 'Angel' board was during its final days.

I also like the scenes with Lindsey and Holland. It's the last episode we see the original trio of LM lawyers: Lindsey, Lilah, and Lee. Such a shame we lost Lee. He perfectly capture that weaselly lawyer character.

I always have always said that about Lee. He was so much better than Gavin, and Holland Manners may have been the best villain on either show.

Yeah, on rewatch, season 4 is not that bad, but it is still my least favorite season of Buffy. I do agree about Joyce and The Bronze and it being a contrast to seasons 1-3. I will add that Giles took a back seat; it's like Prof. Walsh almost replaced him, and Oz's departure didn't help. I also heartily agree that the show did a great job of slowly incorporating Anya, Spike, and Tara.
I also appreciated that after Oz left they had Willow really mourn/grieve and take time to show her heartbreak even if the others got tired of it. I liked that they didn't introduce Tara right away, and even when they did, it was slow, and she was useful as a friend, scooby, and love interest, which all of course culminated in New Moon Rising which (even though I don't watch it often) is a great episode, and, not only provides closure, but balances Willow's (and the audience's) feeling about both Oz and Tara very well. Even now, despite me being a Willow/Oz shipper, I absolutely adore Tara, her relationship with Willow, and was crushed when she died.
Regarding Riley, I didn't mind him in season 4 so much, it's season 5 where he really bugs me. But I felt that the show was always trying to make him more than he was. Of course, he was always in Angel's shadow, and Spike's one could argue, but if they had just made him a good guy that gave Buffy stability and normalcy in her supernatural life, I think he would come off better. On the other hand, I understand why the show felt they had to make him a military commando so that he could fit in with the scoobies and that he was not boring.
As for season 4, I really do appreciate what they were trying to do. The military/government aspect was different and made sense. I liked the Frankenstein aspect the show did with Prof. Walsh and Adam. The concept was great, but the execution was not. On the one hand, I liked the new things and changes in season 4 because that is what college is, and they had to make changes with the departure of several characters, but on the other hand, to me, it felt like too many changes.
I, too, love season 1 of Angel and it's monster of the week episodes. I loved Doyle too, but I do prefer Wesley. *hides* I always felt that after season 5, Angel would have gone back to the basics of season 1 and come full circle had it not been cancelled. Blind Date is one of my favorite W&H episodes. They are all great in it and I miss Lee too! Other than Lindsey in the first episode, I believe that Lee in Sense and Sensitivity is the first glimpse we get of W&H and how they operate until Lilah in The Ring.
mmexis Yeah, I know. Where is everybody? I had a death in my family a couple weeks ago, so I have not been here in a while. I will admit, I like to lurk more than post, but on these boards, I go out of my way to try and post something when I come here. I agree that it was bad timing for Imdb message boards to close, especially in light of the 20th Anniversary. I guess a lot of people are over on Facebook, but I prefer forums to discuss TV shows and the like.
I will watch the Buffy season 2 premier on Friday on the 20th Anniversary of it's airing, so I might start a thread for that if anyone is interested, because I will be watching all of season 2 on it's original air dates.
Yes, Caleb, start a thread for your rewatch. I will talk there with you!!!
