...actually, my favorite sandwich is a grilled cheese with crisp bacon...if I have a burger, there must always be a slice of cheddar cheese melted on it...don't care for bacon my cheeseburger...

I would like some burger with my cheese. So that would be cheese, cheese, & some more cheese.

I usually don't want cheese on my burger, especially that crappy "American" cheese. Blue cheese is good at times.
Bacon is good on a burger on occasion, but rarely - don't need all the additional salt, fat, and nitrites. So for me, lots of onions (grilled and raw), lettuce, tomato, and pepper is quite good enough.

With cheese, bacon or both? i prefer with both but i can go without cheese if necessary Yeah the bacon and the burger are the most important thing. The cheese just gives it a little something extra but it's not the end of the world without it.

I don't really have a preference. All the choices here are fine with me.

I'm not sure if this is a franchise-wide policy, but the Burger King near me does not put cheese on their Whoppers unless you specifically tell them to add it. Most of the time I forget (and the salesperson never asks), so when I get my cheese-less burger, I regret my decision of choosing BK. In most fast food restaurants, the cheese is added by default and you have to tell them NOT to put cheese on your burger (if that's your thing).
Is this a peculiarity in my area?

Yeah but aren't you either ordering a hamburger or a cheeseburger and not just "can I have a burger"? A whopper I don't remember ordering it's been years since I ate this stuff.

Burger - no bacon, no cheese.
All the burger places where I go in Israel are kosher, including McDonald's.

NO CHEESE and NO BACON?!?! Then I could only go for a very-brief visit to Israel. I would never be able to live there. I would just miss bacon and cheese...TOO MUCH!!!

I would just miss bacon and cheese...TOO MUCH!!!You can have all the cheese you want - just not with meat. I get cheese (only) pizzas all the time and they're usually very thick (with cheese, tomato sauce) which is quite delicious. I never knew how good a very thick cheese topping on a pizza could be! P.S. If you go to very secular parts of Israel, I'm pretty sure you can get cheese with meat, though. It's not the entire country that sticks to being strictly kosher although some places try to be vaguely kosher without being certified as such. I think some places just give it up and put cheese on meat. I think so, anyway.
